It's the little things
I'm afraid Boulder Lodge is taking advantage of its impressive lake views to charge a bit more than is justified. It's the little things: tv not working (intermittent), 3 out of 5 door locks broken, hothouse temperature on 3rd floor. Parking was a minor hassle. WiFi was all but unusable (easily overcome with minor equipment additions). These are things that should be taken care of before they demand a $200+ room charge. On the positive side, kitchen appliances worked, office folks were friendly.
Awesome views, great room and excellent customer service. What was a business trip ending up being a great getaway as well. The Lake Views are spectacular. Will Definitely stay again.
Great location with private balcony overlooking lake. Spacious room with comfortable chairs. Older property, not fancy, but well kept up. However, both beds were so hard we had trouble sleeping.

Beautiful stay.
This place is soo beautiful. They just need to update NOW and FAST. Gave us a great view of the lake.
I booked this hotel because of its location to June Lake.............right on the lake. Beautiful location with a spectacular view from our balcony. That was its only redeeming quality. We pulled up to the hotel and first thing we noticed was the wood shake roof. If there was a match around it would have gladly jumped at the chance! Of course, it was being repaired by the looks of the roll of tar paper and partial roof removed. Didn't see a soul working on it the 3 days we were there however.
When we arrived our room was not ready so we checked out the town and drove around the lake. Returning an hour and 15 mins. later the room was still not ready. Maybe because there were 16 year old boys cleaning it! Sheesh! I remember when my boys were 16 and cleaning was not a priority even if they were paid! Well, 1970 wanted the room back. It was very dated with old appliances, dirty furniture, stained popcorn ceilings and just plain dusty. We left a day early because the idea of sleeping another night in a full-size bed together with the smell of mold and dust just made us both nauseous. It was an adventure we will remember for a very long time.
