Room was very clean. It is a fairly basic room, but does the trick. We booked a kitchenette and this was useful. We brought food (for sandwiches, etc.) from Victoria as there is limited food nearby.
Very well located for the Botanical Beach and one of the Juan de Fuca entrance points.
Staff, particularly the front desk person, was very helpful.
The pub is within easy walking distance and has excellent food.
We were disappointed that the West Coast Lodge did not have a restaurant as advertised on the websites. Also we were not able to get live TV channels, only streaming channels.
Bring what you need. The guest services area does not have very much. The bed was very comfortable. The tub was amazingly deep allowing for a nice soak after hiking all day. The room was cozy and quiet. We were there 2 nights and I never heard our neighbors. The pub has a nice atmosphere.
Pros: The location was easy to find and the price was lower than some of the other accommodations in the area.
Cons: The bathroom sink and shower were slow draining, and the toilet was not very secure and would tip forward when sitting on it. While overall the room was serviceable, it was on the small side for our family with our bags.
I would not recommend staying here more than one night (but I believe you have to book a minimum of two nights.)
The property was a beautiful place to stay after a long day of hiking. The room was very clean and had a great little kitchenette. Water pressure was kind of low but to be expected so remote and the water was nice and hot and bathroom very clean. Wifi wasn't great but sort of enjoyed being disconnected for a few days. Apparently there was a bear nearby (we were told be staff) but we didn't see it. Enjoyed the Beach Camp coffee and chatting with it' s friendly staff. Renfrew Pub was delicious. All in all a great stay.
Staff at reception not particularly welcoming or customer focused.Seemed more focussed on explaining the rules. Only 2 recommendations for local restaurants and it seems they may have an interest in those. Room was good and clean but they could have tidied the outside are to give some sort of view. We were in the lodge at the rear. Just felt slightly disappointed.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
quiet out of the way place, had a good rest, our bed was too soft though, other than hiking or fishing charters not much to do. no shopping or food stores, loved the cafe had a nice vibe we drove from Sooke so the road was super rough in our truck. A place to visit for the day!
