Nice forest setting but don’t expect a view
My friend and I stayed here for 5 days. The cabin is in a forested area which was nice for sitting out on the deck (although you will most likely have to clean the table of tree debris daily) however there is no view of the mountains as the listing suggests. I slept on the bunk beds and ended up moving from the top to the bottom because they were so wobbly I didn’t feel comfortable up top. We prefer cooking to eating out and the pots and pans could really use an upgrade. Most were well worn with mismatched lids. One pan was also dirty so we didn’t use it. The hot water on demand was nice and we were provided with two fans to use as it was quite hot the week we stayed so that was much appreciated. There was also a power outage after dark and it would’ve been nice to find some flashlights instead of using our phones and eating up our batteries. Overall it’s a good price for what you are getting and we had a nice time but it could definitely use some upgrades.

Central cabin
Clean, central located cabin in the woods, quiet neighborhood, walling distance to gondola and park and near by attractions. Great to be able to cook our own meals.

If you’re looking for an affordable, conveniently located cabin at Wallowa Lake that will keep you warm and dry, this fits the bill. Nothing fancy, but it was clean and well enough appointed. The price was right and the location close to the state park and the lake. Quiet neighborhood while we were there, midweek in late May.

Cozy, clean cabin but some initial problems
I liked the cabin and enjoyed my stay once I got everything working. When I arrived, found a note saying the kitchen lights and frig lights weren’t working and an electrician had been called. This would have been a deal breaker as kitchen lights were the main lights in the cabin. Fortunately they were working??? What wasn’t working was the refrigerator: it was warm, dark and smelly inside. After 9 hours of driving and a box of fresh food that needed to be refrigerated, I was very unhappy. I saw there was another outlet on a different wall so moved the frig plug there and it came on and worked fine. The light bulb was missing so of course it couldn’t work. The next morning I went to take a shower only to find there was no hot water! So I got dressed and started investigating the systems. Found the on-demand water heater and saw it had no power. There was no other outlet to try so went outside, found the electrical panel and a tripped breaker. Once I reset the breaker, power was restored to the circuit and the hot water heater worked fine. The bedroom smoke detector’s battery was going out (blinking green). I suggested it should be replaced soon but that was not done while I was there. I contacted Vacasa that first night and got several messages from them saying they wanted to help but never an offer to send someone to the cabin. If I hadn’t been able to resolve the refrigerator and hot water issues on my own, I would have had to leave, ruining my trip.
