Apartment was around the back of the building, sketchy, felt like an old staff accommodation. Absolutely stunk of cigarettes and dampness. Filthy bathroom with hair all over the floor and dirty toilet and sink. Very low ceilings, felt like a basement, has one window in the bedroom that was blocked off by panels so very dark no light. Dirty cutlery, stove top and tables. We walked in and walked right back out due to conditions. Did not ever get a refund back because we booked through Expedia. Would not book again and would not use Expedia again.

The room itself was a noce size, very basic but perfect for us. The only gripe i have os the amount of dust/cobwebs on the ceiling and skirting boards. Loose sonk spout in the bathroom. Overall a great, comfortable place to stay. Well be back if you have us.

I have stayed here before and had a great experience. This time was the complete opposite. The room we were given could only be described as a shoddily converted storeroom. The build quality was horrific. As if your 12 year old son had spruced up a garage. There were literally no windows bar a tiny slide with no fly screen which was about a foot tall from the ground. It really felt like an insult being placed in this room. There were many mosquitos, exposed wiring, holes in the roof. It was like they forgot about my booking and in a panic shoved us in the janitors closet. The furniture was clearly gumtree free items or from the reuse shed at the tip. Kitchen was new so this was okay. But just horrible overall. My advice to Alpine Gables is DO NOT sell that room. Your other rooms are fine. This room will decrease your reputation. Keep it for a staff break room or an office.

We had a loft apartment, which had plenty of space for two. The room was clean comfortable and well heated. It was still in the process of being refurbished, but this was not an issue. Great having a small kitchen also!
