Gingerbread Chalet- Raystown- Shy Beaver

Once upon a time, nestled deep within a mystical woods, there stood a fairytale house that seemed to have sprung right out of the pages of a storybook. This enchanting abode was the embodiment of whimsy and magic, capturing the hearts of all who were lucky enough to stumble upon it.
But what truly captured the imagination was the spiral staircase. The staircase seemed to have a life of its own, twisting and turning upwards with a sense of joyful anticipation. Climbing up the spiral staircase led you to a charming catwalk, where two bedrooms awaited, each exuding a sense of comfort and coziness that only a fairytale could provide.
Downstairs, a main bedroom awaited, complete with a grand king-sized bed that looked as though it belonged to royalty. There is also a bunk room, designed with the imagination of children in mind, housing a twin over queen bunk bed with a trundle.
Yet, the true heart of this magical house lay beyond its walls. Just a stone's throw away, a detached game room and bar area stood, a place where laughter and merriment flowed freely. Inside, a billiards table stood proudly, inviting friendly competitions. The bar held a promise of delightful conversations. A seating area offered a place to relax and share tales, while a full bathroom ensured that comfort was never far away. For those who wished to stay the night, sleeping accommodations for four were provided.
The house itself is a generous host, accommodating up to 18 souls who sought refuge within its walls. The kitchen, fully stocked and ready for culinary adventures, stands as a testament to the joy of sharing food and stories. And just outside, an outdoor fire pit waits patiently, offering a place for stories to be woven into the fabric of the night.
Perched near the shy beaver boat launch at Raystown Lake, this fairytale house is a haven for those seeking both adventure and respite. It is a place where the line between reality and enchantment blurred, a place where friendships are forged, and memories are etched into the tapestry of time.
And so, the fairytale house in the woods stood as a testament to the enduring magic of stories, the power of imagination, and the capacity of a simple dwelling to become a cherished part of countless journeys and tales yet to be told.
There's a private patio. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. The bathroom has a shower/tub combination.Conveniences include a microwave and a coffee/tea maker.
Enjoy the recreation opportunities such as a water park or make use of other amenities including an arcade/game room.
Guests will find features like internet access and onsite parking.

Beautiful chalet in the woods
Beautiful house located in the woods, great stay! Though a few things to plan for: 5th BR is located in a detached (former) garage, converted to a beautiful spacious game room. Included is a beautiful full bath, queen bed (no door) and twin beds in a cozy, low-ceiling loft, great for kids. Living room pull out couch would need a cleanup from mouse turds. RE: linens, clean bedding wrapped in plastic, plan for time making all beds; 2 bath towels provided for each bedroom, couple hand towels & no washcloths; beds were good but bringing your own pillows may make for a more comfortable sleep. Kitchen was very nice though no cupboards for food storage and no spices, cutting board, mixing or serving bowls and just one drying towel.

A few things you will want to know
Overall we enjoyed our stay but there are a few things we wish we were told before we arrived. -Horrible wifi. Don't expect to call, text or stream -You cannot choose the house temperature. You must text or call the owner (with limited service) and they will turn it to (around) what you asked for. -They have a big mouse problem. -The two upstairs loft bedrooms do not have doors. They have curtains. -One of the bathrooms is out of order (the one that has the advertised jacuzzi tub) and when we brought this up brought it up to the owner, he blamed housekeeping, said he would take a look and then jetted out the door. Quite literally. He left and did not come back. -Game room is NOT connected to the rest of the house. It contains 2 bedrooms that are not connected to the house. -Your bed will not be made. You will find sheets wrapped up on each bed -House is not well-stocked. You get one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, one hand towel, etc. no matter how long you rented the space for. So you will want to bring your own. -Many of the dishes were still dirty andgreasy with food stuck on them.

Great for large groups
This is a phenomenal property that was very clean and had everything you could need. Having two buildings was great, since those who wanted to stay up late could be on the game room building while the main house stayed quiet, which worked for us because we had some small children along. There were 16 of us. The hosts are quick to respond to any questions or issues, however the responses are brief and may not answer the question. The listing does not make the sleeping arrangements clear, although there is room for 18. There is room for 4 in the game room (1 double, 2 singles). There are 4 separate bedrooms in the main house (2 on bottom level, one with 1 double and one with 1 double, a trundle double and a single bunk) and (2 on the 2nd floor - both doubles). The extra four sleeping spaces come from a pull out couch in the living room and a futon in a sitting room on the bottom level).

The Chalet
Our family of 13 stayed at the Chalet this year for our yearly family trip to Raystown. Our grandkids loved the game room which is where we spent most of our time. I was as disappointed on the cleanliness of the house when we arrived. There were dead beetles, ants and mosquitoes behind the one bedroom door downstairs along with a musty smell. There was no broom to clean up anything and the vacuum cord was cut so we couldn't use that. The kitchen was very tight on space no cupboards to put snacks or supplies we brought, no mixing bowls. The Bedrooms upstairs did not get cool and there were no fans to use. I also feel the outside of the house could have used some work. Weeds could be pulled and windows washed simple things that could be done to have a nice curb appeal.

Memorial day memories
Just as the pictures described! Pros:The detached game room was totally awesome. The fifth bedroom is out there(queen, 2 twins, full bathroom). No "bedroom" door for this sleeping area just fyi. Location was good, more at the bottom area of the mountain. Beautiful open house with tons of space for a good amount of people. Fire pit was convenient, right on the back porch. Lots of chairs to sit on outside. Cons: had a small issue with the thermostat, but quickly handled w/the number provided for that in the email. It's basically one giant room, so it was a little harder to keep cool, or cool down. The chairs outside, & porch area could use a major power wash. Absolutely no pantry, or cabinets to store food in in the kitchen but well stocked utensils, etc. Very cool house & loved our stay. We had a variety of ages & all were happy with our stay. Thanks
