It was so fun waking up at 5 in the morning to the Call to Prayer from Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque! I didn't think we could hear it from Piya, but we COULD! So cool! Plus an alleyful of adorable stray cats. Eye candy! We had trouble finding it, but it was so neat asking locals, and the last one we consulted knew exactly where it was. You go through a tunnel to get there. So many flowers in bloom en route. The next morning we had fun poking around the streets en route to our ferry ride to the Tulip Festival. Piya is very near a bus top by the Bosphorus Sea which goes to Eminou ferry. Really interesting walking district there. There is no breakfast, but you feast your eyes on all the sights and sounds, and that is good enough for me. The sweet host met us at 11:30 p.m. to show us to our room. I hope we can return someday. It's quaint and fun. LOL!
Nice location in a quiet area really close by the main attractions in Sultanhamet.
Service has to be improved though, we wanted to check in at 4pm and the room wasn’t ready, and when we did check in the room was outside the main building : cold (heater was not working) and almost no wifi signal.
Overall not bad for the price you pay as the room was comfy and clean, but there’s room for improvement.
Vey quiet hostal quiet area of old town not a bad location to sultan hamet and surrounding area. No breakfast due to coronavirus so they said no cooking or washing facilities. But generally friendly staff. The manager liked you in by 12 midnight as he likes his sleep. I enjoyed the quietness of the hostal.

Good value for money
I stayed in the 8-bed dormitory. There was a small fridge and a storage cabinet as well but you should bring your own lock. The place is a bit old and small but not dirty and unclean. Wifi and breakfast is good and the location is wonderful. If you're comfortable with making a little sacrifice in overall comfort and luxury this is the place for you. The hosts are friendly and helpful. I'm happy with my stay.
I regret I am unable with any honesty to concur with previous positive reviews. The wifi was virtually non-existent. There is nothing that could be called a common area. Worst of all the exit door was locked (plus two bolts) and needed a key to be opened in early morning. This is criminal negligence and could result in multiple casualties in the event of fire, since the windows have fixed security bars.
