The Manager very kindly upgraded us to a room with a balcony, on our second night as we were celebrating our Silver Wedding Anniversary! The staff (and locals) were very friendly indeed and we felt very much “at home”. Thank you for making our stay so memorable - especially the free cocktails on the Roof Top Bar!

Overall, the property and staff aren't bad. Not outstanding, but still fine in all ways considered. The hotel was clean. Room was a tad small. Bathtub/showers were a little difficult to step down from due to their height so if you slip you're in big trouble. No handle bars anywhere. The biggest issue in regards to the facility is safety in my opinion. Only half the rooms are on the side "with an elevator", the rest go up a stair case with very narrow steps. Therefore, if you have mobility issues, be prepared to struggle a bit. The hotel restaurant has good food and a nice size menu but is extremely pricey when compared to many nearby restaurants. The rooftop ambiance is nice, just be prepared to pay for it. Breakfast is great and offers good initial variety. That being said, it does not change from day to day. Therefore, be prepared to eat the same thing over and over. The gozleme made by a wonderful lady in the back room are delicious. Perhaps a little bit different ingredients beyond meat, cheese and spinach but overall a great addition. Staff at the front desk are great, they'll arrange tours and other outings for you, just be prepared to pay a bit of an inflated price. Location is great, it's a steep hike to the central squares but overall a short distance. If I return to Istanbul, I would likely select a different hotel but would not discourage anyone from booking this one.

Bathtub leaked and door track was very dirty, but sundeck was great rm 801. No confirmation of airport transfer which created an issue when we did arrive. Otherwise the staff was very helpful! Eggs were always cold at breakfast but selection was good. The fresh made gozleme was excellent.

My room (a Standard Double Room) was quite small and badly needed renovating. (The hotel seemed to have two distinct portions to it, and perhaps the portion that I was in has not had an update but the other has?) When I checked in, there were guests in the rooms on either side of my room and I could hear their rather loud conversations perfectly, as if they were standing in my room along side of me. I went to the front desk and asked if perhaps there was a more quiet room they could move me to, but there was not. But in the end, sleeping with earplugs worked fine. ALL of the staff were extremely kind and eager to help. Although I did not feel unsafe in the neighborhood at all, it had a run-down quality to it as well. The proximity to the Blue Mosque and several key sights was excellent… but despite this, I would not book a hotel in that particular area on any future visit.

Like the friendly staff who are very helpful. The location can’t be beat in the old section of town and very walkable to the Blue Mosque and other great sites. Dinner on the roof balcony with a view of the Marmara Sea, the Hippodrome as well as the Blue Mosque. The call to prayers from many mosques told us that we weren’t “in Kansas anymore “
