About this property

18th Century Coachhouse in a Courtyard Setting

The Coach House is a meticulously renovated 18th century stable block nestled in the spectacular valley of the River Nore, one mile away from the beautiful village of Inistioge. We are registered with Failte Ireland and have been awarded 5 stars.
It is in a private & secluded courtyard setting, but with close access to plenty of local facilities in nearby Thomastown (3m) and Kilkenny (12m).

The property itself has been lovingly restored to the highest specifications with hand-crafted oak woodwork and natural stone throughout. Clean, light and spacious, it sleeps 8-11 people in two double bedrooms, one with a sofa bed and thee other with a single bed, a twin bedroom and a master bedroom with king-sized bed, an en suite bathroom and a balcony overlooking the valley. An extensively equipped kitchen, including a broad range of herbs and spices, opens out onto a breakfast patio which overlooks the private garden. At the end of the sunroom the back door leads out to 6m² deck with which is the perfect hangout spot to relax and unwind. There is also a gas BBQ beside the deck.

There is a downstairs shower room, a utility room with a washer and drier, and a large conservatory that leads to the two vaulted downstairs bedrooms. Upstairs, the comfortably furnished sitting room has a wood burning stove and a selection of DVDs and Cds as well as satellite television, Bluetooth speaker and WIFI. All duvets, bed clothes and towels are inclusive, as are light and heat.

The local village of Inistioge is a delightfullly picturesque setting on the bank of the Nore with a number of traditional pubs, cafés and restaurants. It is the perfect location for hikes and country walks, especially in the grounds of the dazzling Woodstock Estate gardens.

Nearby Thomastown has an international reputation for its arts and crafts, boasting a variety of studios and workshops to visit, galleries and exhibitions, an artisan chocolatier, cafés and numerous pubs where one can unwind with a pint and some live music.

There are no less than four golf courses within 5-10 mile radius including the famous Mount Juliet Hotel where one can indulge in a spot of horse riding or fly fishing.
There's a private balcony or patio. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Satellite programming along with a DVD player are provided for your entertainment. The bathroom has a bathtub and a hair dryer. Conveniences include a microwave and a coffee/tea maker.
Pamper yourself with onsite massages or take in the view from a garden.
Guests will find features like wireless internet access and onsite parking.

Amazing property
The owner has transformed an old mill into one of the most unique and beautiful places I’ve stayed. This house is very creatively designed and was extremely comfortable. The property itself is gorgeous. The cows came to visit in the evening and I’ve never seen stars so bright. A bit off the beaten path, and the nearest town was pretty closed up since it wasn’t summer, but otherwise everything was great!

Spectacular property
What a magnificent home and property. This place was magazine perfect. Daniel’s family property was just spectacular. The moment you drove up to the property we all knew it was going to be great. Outside the property looked like an old world Irish stone farm house and coach house. But inside we had all the high end modern conveniences. The property grounds were manicured and cared for perfectly. Daniel was the perfect host and we had everything we needed including a nice warm fire and then some. Staying there made our trip extra special. Thank you so much from the McNamara’s

Wonderful Coachhouse stay
We loved our stay at the Coachhouse. Daniel was there to meet us at check in and responded quickly to messages. It is off the beaten path. Make sure you bring food and drink with you if you haven't rented a car. We enjoyed our time relaxing and playing cards after a long day of exploring. It was clean and plenty of room for 8 adults. Would stay there again.

Magical spot
Our stay at the Coach House was magical as our final stop on our trip to Ireland. Daniel is a wonderful and gracious host and helped us find fun places to visit while there. The property is situated in view of the picturesque town and close enough to drive to get everything we needed (groceries, etc). The property and home are so beautiful and we easily could have accommodated more family members and friends. We plan to return again someday and hopefully rent the Mill House as well!

Magical location
This property is so unique and beautiful. Jack and Daniel are wonderful hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. The location was the perfect spot in the gorgeous Irish countryside, yet close enough to various destinations. Inistioge is picture perfect. Each space in the house is thoughtfully and beautifully arranged. We can’t wait to come back and bring more of our extended family!

We enjoyed staying at the Coachhouse. There is a nice floor plan, large deck and table. The beds were comfortable, the young ones enjoyed the grounds, and there were close side trips to Thomastown, Kilkenny, Jerpoint Abbey and Kell’s Priory.

Beautiful and peaceful
The house was very spacious and well equipped with everything you could possibly want, including kitchen condiments and toiletries. Comfortable beds. It was perfect for our needs including the bbq which we used several times. Only downside is that it was further from the village than we though definitely an Irish country mile and wasn’t walkable with 2 young children. Inistigoe is beautiful but good options are limited especially mid week and then only pub grub. The weather was perfect so we had a great stay.

Perfect House
The Coach House was my families favorite house on our Ireland trip. Dan was a perfect host and we loved being in a less touristy area, getting a more traditional Irish experience. The town has three pubs, our favorite was the Otter Bar. Alan and Catherine welcomed us into their town and made us feel Irish for a few days. We will be back to this hidden gem!

Coach House visit
We had a wonderful time here. This is our 3 rd stay at the coach house. It’s like coming home for us. Danial makes you feel welcome. The house itself has all you need for your stay. We cooked many nights big Irish dinners and enjoyed tea in the BIG teapot. One we tried to find while visiting with no luck. There are many special touches, such as heated mattress pads on the beds. Plenty of fresh firewood for the stove up in the great room. We all felt so comfortable and at home here. It’s so nice that Dan and Jack have kept old world charm here and have not gone automated with everything. I can’t wait to come back again. Thank you for being such amazing hosts and providing our home away from home. Singleton, McMahon and Kentie Family

Even Better than the pictures
Daniel met us at the door, answered all our questions and showed us what we needed to feel perfectly comfortable. This property is rural, maybe 15 min to town. It is exquisite, exceptionally clean, well furnished and with all the appliances you’ll need. Our 4 generation family fit the space nicely. It is one of the nicest VRBO homes we have had the pleasure to visit.
