Guests Beware!!! Deluxe Room Booked.
Arrived at hotel, very tired/dirty looking furniture in reception. Shown to our room and pointed out brood of red ants by bed and when I raised the blind to let light in, a large number of mosquitoes were evident.
Pointed this out to staff and they offered to show another room.
Next room, no better...all of the above plus loose electrical socket.......pointed this out to staff, offered to show another room....
Next room, had been mosquito/insect sprayed before our arrival as dead insects on flooring....Extremely dirty linen, with biological stains. We were also asked NOT to open the doors after 5pm to avoid insects in our room.
At this point we advised the hotel that this was not satisfactory and were offered a 'downgrade' by the Hotel Manager as he would NOT authorise a refund.
We went online in the hotel lobby and called Expedia, who initially said they would not get involved and we had to pursue this matter directly with the Hotel. I advised Expedia that this was unacceptable and they advised me that they would call me the following day!
This was of no help at that moment, and at extreme personal cost (international data charges and international calls from my UK mobile), I booked us at the Taj Hotel.
This is only a synopsis of our experience, however PLEASE be aware!!!!
