Just a brief visit back to my hometown area of Cumberland
My husband and I love to travel all over the USA and this trip we took with our Golden Retriever Maebry with us. It's always a struggle for me to find a pet friendly VRBO in the Cumberland area that meets my selectiveness until I found this gem ! It's "out" which is something we prefer yet just a short 15-20 min drive to LaVale or Cumberland for groceries or restaurants. It's also close to the Deal PA trailhead of the GAP so take your bikes and enjoy a ride ! It felt like home to us and although we never got to meet Lacy, she was always quick to reply if we had questions and welcoming. Check in and check out was a breeze. The "bunkhouse" was exceptionally clean and we found it very cozy and comfortable. It is on a working horse ranch so we found ourselves surrounded by beautiful horses and fabulous sunsets on our evening walks up the long driveway. My only regret is not having hot dogs or marshmallows to roast by the firepit ! We only rented for 2 nights and were usually away most of the day but it was a quiet stay. We did have to hang a light blanket over the valance rod in master bedroom to block some of the light coming in from a big security light outside and the house is on well water for those of you not accustomed to that so bring some drinking water with you. Neither was really a big issue for us. We plan to be returning guests to the Bunk House on future trips back to my hometown and hopefully participate in a horseback trail ride ! Thanks Lacy for the hospitality !
