First off the staff were very polite and accommodating without exception. The room was also pretty nice and very clean and the large shower wet room was a nice addition. The issue with the room was that it was very hot though, with only a fan to cool it and only one very thick duvet on the bed, so sleep was pretty elusive!
The real disappointment was the food though. I ordered a burger and chips, which at £16 I hoped would be pretty good, but the burger was overcooked and thin and the chips also overdone to the point of being dry and brown. As it came with no veg I ordered a tomato side salad and whilst the dressing was pleasant enough, the tomatoes were watery and more like budget supermarket stuff (on mentioning this to the waitress though the price was taken off the bill). As a glutton for punishment I ordered a chocolate tart for dessert. The chocolate itself was fine, but the base itself felt undercooked, again lacking flavour and gave the pudding a sense of being bought in or stored for too long possibly. Sadly one of the beers on tap also tasted like it had been stored for too long as well, or not at the correct temperature. For a bill of £112 for both of us this was a very disappointing meal. That said, the breakfast was pretty good and thankfully included.
