We were puzzled by the description of the configuration of this apartment, as it claimed to have a garden- which it does, a quite spacious and very private one. However, because of the slope of the hillside into which the house is built, the apartment is actually on the first floor, and approached by a flight of outside stone steps. This is a little surprising when you are not expecting it!
Inside, the one bedroomed flat is all on the level, elegantly furnished and with delightful period architectural details, such as a marquetry floor and carved wood panelling. The practical things, kitchen, bathroom, bed, are very satisfactory as well.
Visitors do need to remember, however, that Honfleur is a popular destination, that public parking prices reflect this, so Claire’s offer of a garage to rent for the duration of your stay, at 7 euros a day, is well worth taking up.
Myself, husband and cocker spaniel all had a very enjoyable stay.
