Another brilliant YHA offering great value for money. I stayed in a private room that had a fantastic sea view and everything was spotlessly clean. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the optional breakfast is worth it and has a lot of choice. Location is at the top of a steep hill but only a 5 minute walk to the harbour.
On arriving I was asked to produce an identity card/passport etc. I was informed that unless I produced it I would not be allowed to stay. I had travelled 300 miles from the other side of London to be greeted like I was some sort of criminal. I didn't have a passport or identity with a photo ( normal in England) and the guy on the reception said ok unless you produce it you cant stay. I am not sure where it says that on your web page but I certainly wasnt aware of it . I live in a country that doesn't have ID cards so why would YHA need it? In the end after much protesting by me, I was told if I had two credit cards in my name I could stay. It was an unpleasant experience, to say the least. Apart from that, it was ok. The room was fine and parking easy and an amazing view from my room. You just need to train staff a bit more in how to deal with stressed customers as I was after I arrived and informed I couldn't stay.
It was very clean.
The night was very expensive for what was provided. £109 did not include any tea or coffee in the room, no private bathroom, sleeping on a double bed under a bunk bed with a plastic mattress.
Only one pillow each. No table in the room. No coat hangers. So many rules! Very overpriced.
The YHA is in a great position but the room was very basic which we expected. Due to covid none of the usual facilities such as catering/ kitchen were open again expected. However we were charged the same as we had been for our B & B the night before with full English breakfast and ensuite so whole thing felt overpriced to us.
My Father and I were walking the South West Coastal path and thought we would try the YHA hostel as it was our first night. Great and friendly staff, nice room with clean shared bathroom/showers. We would recommend paying the extra for the cooked breakfast, this was cooked to order and was a great start to our day with the unlimited tea & coffee.
It was great no complaints. I went with my friends just for a night! The employees were very accommodating and funny. Breakfast was lovely. I want to come back with my boyfriend it would be very romantic
Lovely yha with great views Friendly helpful hostess

Great location and view, good value for money
We had the room nr 3, the room was excellent apart from the window handle, one of them was missing and you couldn't close it completely and you could feel the wind come through, but the central heating was compensating. Apart from that it was a very nice experience.
Not a very good impressions when first arrived as we use the farm lanes from the back but very surprised to discover that it was such a beautiful village. Staff were friendly and helpful. Very good value for money! ☺
We stayed in the private room for 3 people. Overall the room is great although it is a bit chilly because of the window is not seal shut. The place is a bit rural; the town and the hostel doesnt have any convenience store available so you have to prepare accordingly before arriving at Coverack. The staff is friendly.
Empfang unfreundlich. Keine Verabschiedung am Abreisetag, Preis für dieses Zimmer zu hoch. Bad klein und unsauber. Man kann im Hotel wohnen fuer den Preis, von allen Hostel inCornwall das Schrecklichste.
