Minutes to Downtown Harpers Ferry, Hot Tub

The Old Stonehouse Tavern, built in 1864, is located a short 10 min. walk from the Shenandoah River. This charming property has exposed stone walls and artfully crafted carpentry, adding to its old-world character. Unwind and relax in the hot tub while stargazing and enjoy the fresh air.Nearby there are several picturesque wineries only 10 minutes away. If the outdoors is your thing, hiking, rafting and tubing are all only 10-15 minutes away.

If you are looking for a unique and charming getaway centrally located in Harpers Ferry with riverfront access and a hot tub - this is it! Located in Bolivar, a subset of Harpers Ferry, you’ll find eclectic art and amazing features. Three bedrooms, sleeping 6 guests, is the perfect getaway or gathering place for friends or family looking to get out of town just an hour from DC and Notthern Virginia.

The first floor bedroom has an electric “woodburning” stove and a cozy-cool feel with original stone floors. A full bathroom is near by with a rain shower and live-edge stone sink and exposed stone walls. The sitting area has a Roku TV and plenty of space for your group to lounge and talk. The kitchen has a huge authentic stone fireplace and a plenty of space to cook and interact with friends and family in the sitting area. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms and a full bathroom. The bathroom has a freestanding tub and shower. The primary bedroom has a queen bed and a picturesque changing room with an antique (and beautiful!) vanity and full length mirror. Brides - this is the perfect spot to get ready and make lasting memories! A rollaway cot is available, if needed.

Outside, you’ll find a fenced yard with a charcoal grill and a propane grill - use whichever you prefer! Propane is provided onsite. A firepit with a solo stove and seating overlooking the Shenandoah River and a local train route is the perfect spot to gather and experience Harpers Ferry. A grotto-like stone wall surrounds the firepit and wood pergola with hand-laid stone steps that frame a hot tub for 4.

This house is truly beautiful, romantic, peaceful and eclectic - bringing a unique edge to a historic home.

Harper’s Ferry Getaway
Location is great and staying in an1800 tavern has appeal. The pans were dirty, greasy and the Teflon well beyond safe use. In fact, I bought a skillet and left it for the next guests. The shower curtain bottoms were dirty and moldy. These are easy fixes. The downstair’s bedroom mattress might be original to the tavern.

Cozy and perfectly located
It was our first time in Harpers Ferry and this place was perfect for us! We were right in the thick of everything - so close to the historical areas, trails, food/drink - but we still had all the privacy that comes from being on a smaller street. The house was exactly as described and convenient for our family, and the host was very communicative. All in all this was a wonderful experience.

A perfect mix of history and modern comfort
My family and I really enjoyed our stay in this tucked away historic property. It is very charming on the outside and spacious and very nicely decorated on the inside. We loved the lay out and the ease of check in. Each room is cozy and homey with just the right amount of decor. The hot tub was soothing at the end of the day and was extra special on the cooler rainy weather we got while we were there. We found all the amenities that we needed for a comfortable stay. Harper's Ferry is just a short little 3-4 minute drive and so close to hiking trails and the Shenandoah and Potomac river. Hiking and history are just a few feet away! Corinne was such a wonderful host and very responsive. We would definitely stay here again!

Old Stonehouse Tavern
This was a lovely house for our family to stay while we explored Harper’s Ferry. We could easily walk to town or the trails, and it had plenty of space for two teenage boys (while their parents enjoyed the hot tub!). We would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful! Would stay again!
We booked this property for a weekend getaway with friends. The home is lovely and spacious. We appreciated the decor- there are beautiful touches throughout. We were able to enjoy the outdoor amenities such as the hot tub, hammock and fire pit. The home is an easy walk to downtown Harper’s Ferry for shopping, dining and sightseeing. I would definitely return for another visit!

The hot tub wouldn’t warm to over 92 degrees. This was the only reason I chose this property. And I called to verify it’s operation be for signing the rental agreement. When we woke in the morning I went to make my wife a cup of coffee and there was none in the house. For 450 a night this is inexcusable.

Perfect house, location, and host
My family and I had a perfect stay. The house was very clean and spacious. My family is convinced that there is no better location for a Harpers Ferry rental as the town is within walking distance and trails are right across the street. The host was very organized, helpful, and responsive. We are looking forward to coming back later this year.

Gorgeous Unique Stay in Historic Town!!!
This is by far the coolest and most unique stay we’ve had so far. The house is chock full of historic charm with every modern amenity you could ask for. Towels and linens are excellent quality, the kitchen is well stocked, plenty of room for everyone. We are so grateful to have experienced such a unique stay with our dogs. The hot tub is amazing-nice and private with a lovely backdrop! Communication was always fast and efficient. So many thoughtful touches such as a binder with lots of information about the area, plenty of toiletries, gorgeous landscaping and a little bag of other welcome goodies! They truly go above and beyond to ensure you have an excellent stay! We will definitely stay again! Highly recommend!!!
