About this property

Glamping at Joe's Hideaway at French Woods Farm

Joe's Hideaway is located on the 100+ acre French Woods Farm. The several acre “glamorous” camping compound sits at the end of a half mile private road.

We love to host large groups. Plenty of space for cars and motorcycles. We offer 3 spacious all-season cabin tents, and a heated recreational cabin on the shore of a deep-water pond with a bonfire peninsula.

Each tent is secured to a roofed, heavy timbered post and beam platform, has its own private camp fire pit and is privately situated away from the other tent platforms. One tent has a king bed, another a queen, and the third has queen bunk beds.

The Adirondack sided recreation cabin with a screened porch has a queen bed and twin bunks sleeping a total of 4.

The site accommodates 12 for $390 a night with a 2 night minimum. We offer a 10% discount if you stay for 7 nights.

In addition, there are 4 pop-up tents; 2 on a wooden platform pond side for 2 people in each tent. And another 2 on grassy ground, also for 2 people in each tent. The cost is $25 per person per night and the maximum guest count is 20. Let us know if your group slightly exceeds this number.

Within walking distance, there is a heated double bathhouse with hot and cold running water, and each bathroom has a sink, shower, and conventional flush toilet.

We provide mattresses with mattress covers and pillows. You bring sleeping bags, sheets, pillow cases, towels, and whatever you need for your comfort.

Don't forget to pack your life jackets for pond and river activities. We do not provide boats or any other water apparatus, and recreation is at your own risk. There is a river outfitter in Hancock where you can rent kayaks and canoes.

The Delaware River and its East and West Branches are within 10 minutes of the site. Enjoy fishing, canoeing, kayaking or tubing. OARS (“Outdoor Adventure River Associates”) located a few miles away in Hancock offers affordable watercraft rentals and livery.

Drive 15 minutes to farm markets, theaters, shopping, dining. Area watercraft rentals, live music , and village events are plentiful!

It’s just a mile to French Woods Golf Course and Country Club, and there are a host of eateries in Hancock, Long Eddy and Callicoon.

Weekend Away in a Woodsy Wonderland
Myself and my guests stayed at both Joe's Hideaway and the upper adirondack cabin. Both places were incredible, well-equipped, and perfectly set up. Rosie and Joe think of everything people might need during their stay. Joe met us upon check-in to show us the lay of the land, providing us with cases of water and ice to get our coolers started. He texted periodically throughout the weekend to make sure we had no issues and to make sure we were enjoying our stay. He even showed up one evening with giant sticky buns from a local farm! We had an amazing time at this location and I have never stayed with more hospitable hosts. We hope to come back soon. Thank you Joe and Rosie!!!

This Might Be Heaven
It started with great communication about the property and quick answers to my questions. The property was very easy to find with the directions given. My family booked two nights here for my husband's birthday. As we pulled in to the hideaway, we weren't disappointed. This place is absolutely stunning! The pond is gorgeous and very easily accessible to really fun bass fishing. The birch wood beds in the large tents are super comfortable and the covered platforms the tents are under are just beautiful. The bath house was clean and water pressure was great for showering. Seeing a homemade plate of cinnamon rolls as a gift from Joe was awesome as we forgot to bring the birthday cake! The bullfrogs sing you to sleep and if you are lucky, you hear an owl and some coyotes in the evenings. We even had a family of deer pay a morning visit. Joe has really thought of everything, we look forward to another visit.

Best camping trip ever
My family and I had a fantastic stay at Joe's Hideaway. The site is perfectly situated and incredibly comfortable. Joe has thought of everything you might need for an amazing experience. He was very responsive and truly went above and beyond as a host. The stars, the fire pits, and the bullfrogs in the pond were especially magical. We can't wait to come back!
