This upstairs corner condo has a both oceanfront and mountain views and it takes just moments to walk downstairs and onto the sand. You'll enjoy the large shady lanai and peaceful sounds of the surf. There is one bedroom, furnished with a king bed. For privacy, it can be closed off from the rest of the unit with sliding shoji screens which still allow air flow to keep you cool at night. A second bedroom is furnished with a day bed, giving you the option to sleep an additional person, plus a futon mat in the closet, perfect if your party includes a child. You can use the room as a home office if it's a working vacation, a desk an comfortable chair are included - the free internet makes it easy. (This apartment has its own dedicated high-speed wifi service, better for zoom meetings or streaming your favorite programs in the evening when the complex wifi is slowed by heavy usage.) The second bedroom has folding louver doors for visual privacy. Note that sound will still carry, so if you're streaming a late-night movie, be sure to keep the volume low.

The living and dining areas are comfortably furnished and there are dramatic ocean and mountain views from each of the large picture windows. You won't mind cooking in the efficient, open kitchen which has everything you need to prepare simple home-cooked meals or serve up your take-out with style. While there are no televisions in the apartments, wifi is provided so you won't be completely cut off from the modern world. (Only as cut off as you wish to be.) Hanalei Colony Resort H4 is uniquely well situated to let you enjoy views of Wainiha Bay, the Kauai coastline, open water, or majestic mountains dotted with waterfalls.

As a guest at a privately managed unit in the resort, you are invited to make full use of all of the facilities such as swimming pool, jacuzzi, barbecue area, and guest laundry room. Certain services provided by the resort staff are not available to private renters, such as the towel exchange window, and the resort shuttle.

While wonderfully furnished and right next to the beach, please know that the development was built in simpler times. The units are smaller and have kitchens to match. Some normal amenities will be absent given the space and purposeful attempt to honor the simplicity of earlier times: you won’t find a dishwasher or washing machine in any of the units (there is a laundry room on the premises), and most units have no televisions (though wifi is available for those of us who can't escape work or want to stream our favorite shows).

As with most homes on Kauai, this vacation rental is NOT air conditioned.

This is an upstairs condo so you need to be able to go up and down stairs. There are no elevators.
