Grampians Pioneer stone cabin

With stunning mountain views, kangaroos grazing at your doorstep and roaring open log fires the Redgum Log Cottage creates a space to step back from the hectic pace of modern life and enjoy the simple pleasures in life. Whether it's a romantic weekend away or a break with the kids the Cottage is set in 60 acres of stunning bushland and offers you that secluded getaway in the Grampians.

As you enter this cottage you can feel the sense of history derived from all salvaged and saved building materials such as the leadlight windows from an old homestead and restored to feature either side of the fireplace.

Even the dining table and chairs originate from a Methodist Church built in 1865, and the main pole supporting the loft was saved from the Seppelts Winery, Great Western.

The Stone Cottage is tucked away at the end of the property, leaving you with a private retreat and has a large loft bedroom creating more space for you to relax or bring friends and family to stay.
Make yourself comfortable in this air-conditioned cottage, which features a fireplace and a Smart TV. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Conveniences include a microwave and a coffee/tea maker.

Location, location, location, BUT
Location was fine, I had emailed the proprietor about payment, several weeks ahead. I wanted to pay as a t/f, not credit card. I received no response. I had a very brief encounter with Aiden, who showed me a map to our cabin. The cabin was clean, but tired. No special welcoming, adequate amenities. given there was a coffee plunger, I would have liked at least one serving. Hand towels in bathroom and kitchen paper(recycled), would have been appreciated. Comfortable Stone Cottage in the Country
Pioneer Stone Cottage has been beautifully built in period style using recycled materials and provides comfortable accommodation at a property near Pomonal, looking out towards the northern Grampians. Wildlife abounds and the stars are bright in this dark sky location. A large open fireplace stocked with wood promises a comfortable evening by the fire side. Our hosts were welcoming and very supportive of our guests when they had an unexpected incident during their trip. We really appreciated their hospitality. We had a short stay and would happily return for a longer holiday.

Relaxing weekend away
This place was amazing, so peaceful, relaxing and not to mention the cottage was probably the cleanest we've ever hired for a getaway. The cottages are spaced out sufficiently enough so that you feel like you're the only ones on the property, very private. Lots of wildlife right at your doorstep with Halls Gap and wineries just a short drive away. Will definitely be back again. Scott.

Relaxing getaway
The view was amazing the stone house was in the perfect position. I loved being out of town and having our own space. The rustic feel of the cottage definitely made us feel like we were on holidays nothing like home, which was what we wanted.

A little bit of Peace
I'd say this is the most peaceful place on earth. Only the sounds of the animal and breathing in fresh air, gazing at the stars and watching the clouds over the mountains to cleanse the senses. If you feel there's a bit of healing needing to be done in yourself or you just need to relax, I truly recommend Stone Cottage.
