We enjoyed our stay but our room was noisy, being right across from the ice machine. Breakfast was excellent but the portions were too large for us. I just ordered toast the second day. I’d be happy with half the breakfast for the same price.
It’s a beautiful old hotel. Check out the public gardens across the street; a must see.
Great hotel. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms, excellent water pressure. The bathrobes and slippers were a nice touch. Great hotel bar and restaurant with excellent service from staff. Great location: adjacent to Public Gardens and plenty of casual dining options nearby. 15-20 minute walk to entertainment district and waterfront.
I would definitely stay here again.
Centrally located, with nice public gardens across the street. Only complaint is that the room door would stick and was a little hard to get in and out sometimes (cleaning staff said due to swelling during the summer humidity)

Good location, nice hotel showing its age
I had a tiny room, but admittedly may have booked that without realizing it. The hotel is very nice, but the rooms are dated. There was no outlet on one side of the bed to recharge my mobile phone, the window was about 3 feet wide and the air conditioning came from what was essentially a window unit. Most notable, however, was the terrible wifi connection. Connection was weak and spotty. While working for a few hours I was disconnected 3-4 times.
Across the street from the public garden, 5 minute walk to waterfront. Parking is behind and below the hotel. Breakfast was very good, bar was great for cocktail. Room on 6th floor was clean, recently refreshed and spacious. Only issue was TV isn’t “smart” and could not access Netflix or streaming services.
Would recommend to anyone.
Beautiful lobby and a great location by the lovely Halifax Public Gardens. The room was comfortable, except for the traffic noise. For a fairly expensive hotel, the staff seem poorly trained, and with a bit of an attitude problem. Also, at over 300 dollars a night it would have been nice to have some whitener in the room for my coffee. Parking is expensive, considering that it is in the same shopping mall where I parked for most of the day at one sixth of the price the hotel charges.
Staff were nice and helpful
Easy access to downtown area
Room was small and technology was outdated

We have been travelling for two weeks from Ontario and this is the best, most comfortable bed yet! Amazing sleeps. Comfortable room.
Bathroom needs a bit of an update or at least oil the bathroom door.
