Romance by the pellet stove - 2.9km from sea

Summary:
Romantic nights in a unique Tiny House - romance, peace and sustainability!

Enjoy a relaxing stay in our self-built Tiny House near Baarzand Creek. This charming cottage in an old carpenter's barn offers comfort, a cozy stove and a sustainable touch. Perfect for couples or travelers seeking peace and quiet and a quick escape. Treat yourself to a romantic and minimalist stay at Tiny House Groede, located in beautiful Zeeuws-Vlaanderen.

The Space:
Why our Tiny House?
Our Tiny House combines charm, comfort and sustainability. Here are some of its unique features:

- Sustainable & energy efficient: The cottage is heated entirely by electricity from 22 solar panels.
- Comfortable amenities: A kitchen with oven, microwave function and induction cooktop, a luxurious rain shower and a pellet stove for romantic evenings.
- Delicious coffee & tea: Enjoy sustainable coffee from The Coffee Boy and relaxing teas from Pukka.
- Sleeping loft: A wonderful place to unwind, equipped with a luxurious Matt Sleep mattress topper and fine bedding.
- Modern conveniences: Air conditioning, high-speed internet and a comfortable sitting area to relax or work.
- Outdoor enjoyment: A cozy patio overlooking Baarzand Creek and a new, beautifully insulated facade with black wall cladding in 2024.

The cottage is modernly decorated according to the principles of the Tiny House movement and has beautiful wooden elements combined with steel. The cottage is small, but nice. Green tones with gold details are reflected throughout the accommodation. Tiny House Gold & Nature's space is equipped for two people. So be sure to invite a plus-one to come and spend the night in Zeeland in a special way. Because special it certainly is. All elements in the cottage are in line with the Tiny House principle: minimalism, peace and nature. The kitchen with authentic tiles, golden tap and wooden countertop, the luxurious bathroom with sea green tiles and golden rain shower and of course that beautiful matte black pellet stove for warming up. So cosy and nice here!

Note: Due to the steep stairs to the sleeping loft, the cottage is less suitable for people with mobility problems.

The Neighborhood:
Things to do in Groede and its surroundings

Whether you want to get a breath of fresh air on a cold day, take a dip in the summer months or relax with a towel on the sand: Groede has several (clean) beaches where this is possible. Take long beach walks, search for beautiful shells and fossils or enjoy a drink and a snack at one of the many beach pavilions.

Groede itself is also worth a visit. The village is small but very nice! Stroll through the traditional Slijkstraatje, for example. You will step back in time to the Groede of old; old traditions are still very much alive here. Not only do you find characteristic houses here, but also a bakery, shop and old workshops. All this comes under the name Het Vlaamse Erfgoed. From the Slijkstraatje, you walk within a few minutes towards the Markt, where you will find nice places to eat and drink such as Fonteyn, De Drie Koningen and Etablissement 1880. From these hotspots, you have a view of the Grote Kerk.

For shopaholics, Sluis or, just across the border, Knokke and Bruges are the place for successful shopping. For nature lovers, there is also plenty to see and do in this region. How about a visit to the bird sanctuary 't Zwin in Knokke or the nature reserve de Zwarte Polder in Nieuwvliet?

Would you like to cross the border to Belgium? From Groede you can be in cities such as Bruges or Knokke within about 30 minutes' drive. Go to Bruges if you love a romantic, fairytale atmosphere and are interested in history, go to Knokke if you want to immerse yourself in a luxury Walhalla of shops and restaurants with - yet often - a price tag. Both trips are worthwhile!

Getting Around:
Bus station is 200 meters walk away. With that, you can take the Westerschelde Ferry to Vlissingen or to Sluis and Bruges (BE).

Other Things to Note:
Annual improvements for an optimal stay

We strive to make your stay even more enjoyable every year. Thanks to valuable feedback from our guests as well as the expertise of my father-in-law, who has worked as a carpenter all his life, we make improvements every March and November.

The latest improvements in November 2024:

- Sustainability and design: Extra insulation and new, stylish black wall coverings.
- Entertainment: A television with Dutch and German channels as well as Netflix.
- Kitchen pleasure: Extensive kitchen inventory to cook delicious meals on the induction hob or in the combi-oven.
- Comfort: New sofa, armchair, table, chairs and cozy accessories.
- Outdoor enjoyment: New patio furniture and atmospheric outdoor lights.
- Active enjoyment: Two free bikes (if available) for scenic tours of the area.
- General maintenance, painting, caulking and major cleaning.

We look forward to you enjoying these improvements during your stay!
