The guesthouse is on the property as the owner, adding a feeling of safety. Knowing that even when we were out, the place was not unattended. While the owner's kept to themselves allowed us a feeling of isolation and quiet, it was good to know they were nearby in case we needed anything. The home is a short 13mi drive in to Nevada City for groceries, shopping, or dining. Looking out across a wooded valley from the deck was so peaceful and relaxing. We would definitely consider a future stay when we want to get away from the city.

Forest retreat just 10 minutes from Nevada City
I'm a hiker and birder so this little Hideaway was perfect. Quiet, surrounded by trees, magnificent deck with views of the mountains. Very dog friendly. Close to all kinds of trails and open space, yet just 10 to 15 minutes to town! Loved it! Just bring a hair dryer if you need one! Would definitely stay here again. Thank you!!!!!

Beautiful Sierra mountain overlook
The place is beautiful! A wonderful deck opens off the studio cabin, where a grill with a stove burner and some deck chairs are. Inside, a charming bed, sitting couch, deck, kitchenette, and bathroom with shower. Check in and out was seamless with a lockbox. The main house is on property if any issues arise (none did for us!). 5/5 would recommend

Peaceful cabin in the trees
We were just up in the mountains for a quick well-being getaway. Conveniently close to multiple small towns to explore and lovely nearby hikes to take with our young dog with wonderful peace and quiet to retreat to at the end of the day. We watched the sun coming over the hills from the deck in the morning. The house had everything we needed. Thank you!

Return stay for peace and beauty
We visited last winter and loved this place (and the area) so much that we returned for another getaway. It has a million dollar view, is very peaceful, comfortable, and clean. We were visited by hummingbirds when sitting out on the deck. Our dog Cricket enjoyed it too and felt welcomed by the dog bed and bowls. We'll be back.

Amazing hosts
The cozy cabin was clean and had everything we needed. We came for the mountain bike trails in the area and the cabin was the perfect staging grounds for our adventures. We enjoyed our coffee and tea on the deck in the morning. My partner unfortunately got injured while we were riding and the hosts gave us extra time to check out and even followed up after to ask if he was doing okay. We would love to return once he is healed!!

Lovely Sierra Getaway!
My husband and I wanted a relaxing place to unwind and celebrate our anniversary and this was just perfect. The property is close to Nevada City and Grass Valley, but feels much more remote. The tree house is amazing and I also enjoyed walking our dog along private trails on the property and public trails that are accessible right off the driveway. Holly and Nancy are gracious and attentive hosts. We definitely want to come back. The view from the back patio is amazing!

This was my partner and I’s first time visiting Nevada city. We were blown away by how beautiful the area is! Our cabin was lovely- Nancy gave clear instructions on how the house operated and gave good recommendations for food and activities in town. We had a great time.

Excellent Cabin in the Woods
We enjoyed our holiday stay and the peace and quiet at the cabin. It is very clean, well organized, and conveniently located close to the many things to do along Highway 20. The hosts are very helpful and responsive. Tip: The trails from Carr Lake are highly recommended if you like Alpine lakes, but the dirt road at the end does require slow and careful driving in all but the toughest of vehicles.

All we can say is...very relaxing! Perfect place to get away & back to nature. When your ready to get some exercise, just walk up the driveway to the pioneer trail. Our Great Dane & grandkids also loved it! We'll be back every year. Hopefully twice a year!

Benny & I and our three dogs thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Nancy was very accommodating & friendly yet left us alone during the stay. We shared that they need an umbrella on the deck and AC. Important to note though that we were there during a heat wave. Nancy was very receptive to feedback. The cottage is adorable and the deck is a fabulous place for coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening. The property is absolutely beautiful and close to great hiking, river & lake swimming & Nevada City. Loved it!!!!! Thank you Nancy & Holly! Kim, Benny’ Koda, Sadie & Chloe the jumper😊

Quiet, peaceful and beautiful
The hosts honored my request to be left alone and I never saw or heard anyone until the day I departed. Very quiet and oh, the view from the guest house is amazing. Great mountain biking right from the doorstep. I wanted to stay longer, but fires back home forced me to rush home. I’ll be back for sure.

Tucked away.
Beautiful small little tucked away guest house with great view. The home owner was very sweet and was especially helpful in bringing us a couple beds for our two dogs. Nice wood stove inside and everything was very clean and tidy. The satellite was spotty during a snow dusting but they had a large sleeve of DVDs to watch. Highly recommend.

Cozy mountain home
We came up just as the season's first snowstorm came through and had the coziest few days. The cabin's nestled amongst tall trees, with a beautiful vista of the valley below and mountains in the distance. We were able to reach the slopes in under an hour (taking into account snowy conditions), and after a long day, coming back to this cabin was so nice. The owners are wonderful as well—pro-active in pre-arrival communications and welcoming us when we got there and making sure we had everything we could need (including a dog bed). Would come back for sure, thank you!
