A lot has changed here since the last time my family stayed here. For one, I’m not sure why, but the registration office moved up to the gondola and alpine slide ticket building. The new lobby is horrible. It’s not a warm, inviting area at all. It looked like a car rental lobby. Nothing like the other lobbies in the area. There were no amenities so if you’ve read there is, for example, s’mores kits, that is absolutely not the case. My kids had to go without at the bonfire at Caribou Highlands because these were listed as something we could get there so I didn’t bring anything. Office staff said they don’t have a lot of what they used to. The room was beautiful though. The view in bldg A of the mountains was outstanding and we loved the fireplace. Hats off to the staff and Lindsay. They were great! They dealt with a server outage the night we checked in. That couldn’t have been easy to deal with but the staff were kind and just went with it.
Observation: TP placement is weird. Please put extra TP near the toilet, not the other side of the vanity. No one wants to do that waddle to get to it.
In all I loved the room but was bummed at the property. We mostly hung out around Caribou Highlands as they have good food and beverages, bonfires, games and such. Thomas to do. Caribou wont share s’mores kits so bring your own or just stay at Caribou as the prices are similar.
