We only stayed one night, passing through the coast on a road trip. All we needed was a safe, clean room with comfortable bed that we can lay our head on for the night & shower. It met the basic needs. My family gave it only 4 stars because we think the hotel badly needs a re-modeling. It is clean, however it is outdated. The room we were given was hard to find at night, especially when there was a huge trash can and vacuum cleaner blocking the door at the entrance by the stairs. We didn't think it was the hallway our room was going to be in. It was a little scary at first to say the least. Breakfast is typical. We didn't use the pool. The room is ocean front, some views, a good walk to the beach, didn't really matter since we didn't stay long.

The staff was excellent, the bed was comfortable, and the rest of the furniture was old and tired. We were on the third floor and there was a set of stairs to go up (second floor was the ground floor). The balcony was a bonus and it was a nice place to eat leftovers and enjoy the sunset. There was also a path to the beach on the bottom floor. Breakfast was good a little better than the average.

Breakfast was delicious especially with their roasted sliced ham! The rest was typical, sausage and biscuits, eggs, waffles, etc. We were traveling with our dog and the large area in the back of the motel was perfect for walking him especially since there was also a trail to the beach which we walked at least once a day. Gorgeous sunset and a very friendly staff. The only negative was if you had a noisy guest in a room above you. We will definitely be back!

Room & breakfast were average. Good front desk service. We would recommend painting safety stripes on the concrete steps going out of the breakfast room and the steps at the pool entrance. We exited the pool on a sunny day and had to stop to look for the step edge.

I was very disappointed to find our room was bit odd smelling. I thought the room was very lacking in appeal and had loose floor tiles. While it was clean and had the necessities for the most part. No shampoo only conditioner. No soap or body was in bath. Only 2 towels. Our lower floor unit didn’t really have a beach view. This was one of the more expensive rooms of our trip and was the worst. I will say the breakfast was great.

Wasn't Sure What to Expect

We had not been on any kind of overnight trip since COVID hit, so we were unsure what to expect. On the surface, it all looked great. Just below the surface, the details presented themselves that caused us to drop our enthusiasm. The furnishings were very "used"--from the chairs that were way too uncomfortable to a couple of seniors to the dresser with drawers that were touchy about how to open (or only open partially.) The breakfast was OK. As a diabetic, I do not have high expectations for anyone's breakfast, and this one was average and quite servicable. We did not use the pool, or walk to the beach which was very close.
