Overall, the property is lovely and well situated. It is convenient for walking to the hot springs, downtown, and local restaurants. Staff were friendly and the rooms had a historic charm. Rooms with a "historic view" had "stained glass" that allowed for privacy and was much nicer than looking at a wall. Unfortunately, the reviews and website failed to mention that they are very pet friendly and do not have a separate section for pets so regular guests are subject to dog hair in their room and common areas, barking dogs in surrounding rooms, dog waste outside, and dog encounters in the lobby and hallways, even when separate accommodations are requested. Especially during busy times, this may lead to a very uncomfortable experience for those who have pet allergies, very small children, or who dislike or are fearful of dogs.
