Was looking forward to a nice rest on our road trip.
I've arranged for a late check-in earlier in the day with a very friendly helpful lady over the phone. When we arived roundabout 9 to 10pm, I was told not to worry about the open door at our room as housekeeping just finished cleaning it.
None of the three door cards given to us worked and I had to return three times to the front desk to get one working card.
Entering the room we were overwhelmed by a wet dog smell. Going the front desk to raise my consern, I found nobody at the desk. I've returned three times before there was someone to help. When I raised my consern I was told, YES it's a pet room. I've said that that is not what I've booked, but were then told that that is all that's available even though I've booked earlier in the week. Needles to say we had to take it. Being a dog owner myself, this was excessive and overwhelming and most probably why the door was left open.
With no soap in the bathroom, only one sample of shampoo. Again nobody at reception. When he did showup I was told they are waiting on the truck which must deliver the soap. I was then handed three more samples of shampoo.
In the morning the toilet didn't flush and I had to go again to reception to ask for a plunger. Luckily the morning shift was present and very helpfull.
Definitely not a pleasant stay and I would not recommend this establishment. Should have booked with the Wydenham group which we've used for the other stops on our trip.
