We are excited to welcome you to our retreat in the mountains of Gerton, NC. Backing up to the gorgeous & pristine Florence Nature Preserve! Enjoy our open floor plan, 950 sq ft w/new modern bathroom, full kitchen, large deck, gas log fireplace, and hot tub with views! 15 miles to downtown Asheville! A beautiful 25 minute drive.

Our cozy 950 sq ft chalet is renovated with an all new kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms, modern furniture, huge deck on three sides, plus a new hot tub just steps from the master bedroom. The beds are new with high thread count cotton sheets. Comfort and cleanliness are a great part of the hospitality that we like to provide.
We have two bedrooms and a bathroom on the main floor, plus a serene loft space upstairs with a queen bed and views out the cathedral windows. Enjoy sitting by the gas log fireplace inside, or gathered under the stars around the fire pit outside.
We offer plenty of privacy on our 3.25 acre property, with lots of indoor and outdoor spaces for relaxing and enjoying your time away from it all in the mountains. Dog friendly, with a pet fee (see house rules)

Guests have private access to the entire chalet and property.

Larry the co-host, lives in the neighborhood and Tena lives in Asheville. We are always available by AirBB message or phone. We are here to make sure your stay is awesome!

Our house in Gerton is just off 74-A, which runs between Asheville and Lake Lure. The property is adjacent to Florence Nature Preserve, a 600 acre conservation area with pristine woodlands, streams, waterfalls, rock outcroppings miles of hiking trails.
Nearby places of interest are Lake Lure, Chimney Rock and Rumbling Bald State Parks. Fly fishing is available in the Broad River. The Green River offers kayaking, rafting and fishing. Buffalo Creek in the town of Lake Lure has 12 miles of hiking and mountain-biking trails.
Hickory Nut Gap Farm, 3.8 miles towards Asheville offers their fantastic fresh local meats to take home, farm tours, hay rides and family-friendly music events in their open air barn. Other local farms include Cane Creek Creamery for dairy and cheeses and Flying Cloud Farm for fresh vegetables, berries, flowers.
Rise Above Bakehouse in Fairview has amazing fresh bread, bagels, muffins, pastries and coffee.
Trout Lily Market in Fairview has organic and fair trade groceries, as well as a sandwich counter. On Friday and Saturday, next to Trout Lily, Cape Fear Coast Seafood sells fresh seafood they drive up straight from the coast. They have great seafood, but they sell out quickly, so locals get there early on Friday.
Sky Mountain Pizza in Fairview is nearby as well.
Whistle Stop Brewing in Fairview has local craft beers and lots of outdoor spaces and kid-friendly activities.
Turgua Brewing is a very small craft brewery in Fairview in a rustic setting with unique and constantly changing menu of local beers, ales and ciders.
The Local Joint in Fairview is an excellent diner and casual dining place for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Food Lion, on 74-A in Fairview is the closest grocery store, aprox 6.7 miles from the house.

Asheville is a pleasant 25-minute drive through mountains and farmlands. Fairview, half-way to Asheville has grocery stores, restaurants, breweries and more. Chimney Rock and Lake Lure are 15 minutes down 74-A, with lots of attractions, restaurants and outdoor activities.
Asheville Regional Airport is 18 miles/around 35 minutes away by car. Uber and Lyft both provide rides from Asheville airport and downtown Asheville.

-The zen loft bedroom has a vaulted ceiling that has the highest clearance of 6.5' . The queen bed is low on the ground and you may not have head clearance to stand up next to the bed. otherwise the room has great views and is open with no doors.

-The house is close to Bearwallow Baptist Church built in 1922. The Church Bells ring at 9am, 12pm, 6pm and can be heard from the house.
Pet Friendly for 1 well-behaved dog ( 2 will be considered depending on size with an additional $50. fee)
Must be on Flea and tick meds during your stay. Let us know a little about our dog name, size, etc.
Please include that your traveling with your dog under guests and $100 will automatically be added for the entire stay. We have gates on all the decks entrances but no fenced area outside. We expect that you will not leave dogs unattended in our house for excessive amounts of time.

Booked guests. You must include how many guests will stay at the house. We have a $20. fee per guest after 2 guests. Airbb adds this on automatically when you book. If you bring more guests you will be charged the extra guest fee.

We do not host the home for any events or parties.
