A Peaceful Retreat Nestled in the Woods - Fast Wi-Fi, Grill, Deck, & Fire Pit

The Nest is a secluded chalet-style cabin tucked into the tree-lined mountains of Berkeley’s County, WV, offering adventure, a quiet retreat & good family fun. It’s also the perfect, quiet home if you simply want to getaway for a while and work remotely or are traveling for work and need an extended stay.

Nestled on 5-acres in the countryside of West Virginia's Eastern Panhandle, you'll enjoy a star studded sky on clear nights & wake up to birds singing & deer wandering, with mountain views through vaulted windows.

The Nest is located near Berkeley Springs, Harper's Ferry, Shepherdstown, Charles Town & Cacapon Resort State Park, among other go-to destinations on the Eastern Panhandle.

****A Little About Our Home****

A quiet sanctuary nestled on 5-acres in the mountains, The Nest Chalet offers relaxation, privacy, the outdoors and quality time with friends and family, with a break from the day-to-day hustle and bustle. Guests are invited to enjoy:

- A light-filled space with central AC/heating, with a large Loft and a Master Bedroom. The Master is on the main floor with a Queen size bed, a private work space and porch. The Loft has a Queen size bed, a full size Korean-style mattress on a raised platform, a portable crib for infants and a reading corner.

- Modern kitchen with microwave, oven, InstantPot, Ninja Blender, toaster, coffee/tea, pots and pans, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and a well stocked spice rack.

- Board games, books, smart television and fast WiFi. We upgraded our home to include satellite provided internet and have been delighted that guests can check email, browse the internet, stream and video conference.

- Clean linens and fresh towels as well as complimentary shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and other products in case you forget yours at home.

- A large yard where you can relax and take in the breeze while laying in the hammock or hanging out on the porch swing.

- A fire pit for s’mores in the evenings and an outdoor deck where you can grill.

- Stunning sunsets/sunrises with sightings of deer, rabbits, turtles and the occasional fox from the deck.

Our property sits on old logging trails and the yard is perfect for running around with little ones or your pup. If you're feeling like stretching your legs and exploring, the path off the driveway into the woods offers a short stroll in the woods.

The Nest is in a mountain community in the countryside so you can enjoy a getaway from the hustle and bustle, but it is centrally located near the Eastern Panhandle's go-to destinations, including Berkeley Springs (~30 miles) where you can enjoy hot springs, antique shops and cafes, Shepherdstown (~25 miles) and Charles Town (~23 miles) for restaurants, breweries and old town charm, and Harper's Ferry (~30 miles) and Cacapon Resort State Park (~20 miles) for outdoor adventures, including hiking, whitewater rafting, kayaking and more. The Eastern Panhandle also has significant history to explore throughout.

We invite you to enjoy West Virginia's wild and wonderful by day and retreat to The Nest for gorgeous sunsets and star-filled skies by night. Or you can just never leave and enjoy curling up with a book, game night with loved ones, the tree-lined mountain views from our deck, and strolling through our property while hanging out with the wildlife.

****A Little About Our Location****

The Nest Chalet is located in a quiet neighborhood on a 5-acre wooded property, so people can truly enjoy privacy and the natural beauty of this place.

The drive up from Virginia (coming from Winchester) or West Virginia (coming from Martinsburg) is gorgeous in either direction, with tree-lined roads and a couple family-owned wineries on one side, and big farms and apple orchards on the other!

For planning purposes, the closest town with grocery stores is Inwood and is about an 15-minute drive from our home. Neighboring Martinsburg has grocery stores, restaurants and a cute downtown area. It is about 16 miles from our home and a 25-minute drive.

Please see our house manual for local recommendations in Martinsburg, Winchester, Berkeley Springs, Shepherdstown, Harper’s Ferry and beyond.

****Getting Around****

You will need a car. Most times of year, any car will be just fine getting up here.

During the winter (November - February), if it is snowing, we strongly recommend 4-wheel drive (and chains for your tires).

Our neighborhood has gravel roads, so please do drive slowly.

We have plenty of space for parking on the property.

If you’re coming from DC, there is a MARC train that comes into Martinsburg once a day. Our home is a 25-minute drive from the train station.
There's a private balcony. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected, and a Smart television is provided for your entertainment. The bathroom has a shower/tub combination and a hair dryer. Conveniences include a desk and a microwave.
Take in the views from a garden and make use of amenities such as barbecue grills.
Guests will find features like internet access and onsite parking.

Quiet mountain stay
We had a wonderful time at this cute and cozy mountain home. We came up to West Virginia to visit family that lives in the area. It was such a nice respite to come back to every evening and relax. The decor is lovely and so much attention to detail. The kitchen and bathrooms are well stocked. We had everything we needed and will come back again. The hosts were clear in communication and gave us many wonderful ideas for places to eat and things to do.

Beautiful Property
The property was as described and pictured. The house was cozy and comfortable. The kitchen was easy to work in and had plenty of amenities. There were plenty of towels in the bathroom and in the kitchen, as well as, paper and toiletry products. A previous review had noted hearing gunfire during their stay. We did hear them firing at times from the practice range off in the distance but it was not loud, did not bother us nor was it concerning. The hosts were very responsive to questions and comments. We would highly recommend this property to others.

Nice little place
Property is exactly as listed. Very nice house. I am a clean freak and this property was as clean as it could’ve been so this is a major plus for me. The property is a little too far from town which wasn’t too big of a problem for this stay but we prefer being not so far out. If you like to sleep past 7am then this place is not for you. The skylights are right above the beds so as soon as the sun rises you’ll be awake. The neighbors left us alone but I believe there is some sort of shooting range close by, there was a good bit of gun shots during our stay. The owners were very kind and quickly to respond to any questions we had. Pros- clean, nice property, everything we needed was there, Cons- too far away from gas stations & restaurants, skylights, gun shots
