Rustic setting
Andy welcomed us and gave a tour. Apartment was well equipped, and they provided a welcome bottle of wine and bread in the morning. According to host this is the oldest building in the town. Difficult stairs and low ceilings and beams for anyone with physical limitations. Pool advertised was not functional and difficult climb to get there. Would suggest clearer description of property on website.

Holiday kestrel loft 2019
Excellent host, Andy was very friendly and accommodating. Property great location, very hilly for cycling. Property very well equipped. Shower unit fab. Pool area very welcoming after a very hot day out sight seeing. Loads to do in easy reach two great restaurants in Gensac.

A stay which may have endangered our health and wellbeing
There was a significant odour in the apartment which we initially thought was lack of airing. However, after returning from a meal in gensac, we realised there was a very strong smell of hydrocarbon. Unfortunately, we had no option but to stay the night and although we opened the windows, my husband woke up feeling nauseous and I had a blinding headache and a feeling of disorientation. The owner said he stored oil for the central heating boiler as it turned out in a garage directly under the bedroom and bathroom. He said he would refund our stay as we left early next morning and would get someone to look at the boiler. Home and away have stated that they do not intervene in any disputes with the owner.

Kestrels loft. Perfect.
As we drove into the courtyard with nothing but fields and vines as far as the eye could see I knew I'd chosen well. Debbie was there to greet us which was comforting as some previous stops hadn't gone so smoothly. The property didn't disappoint everything I expected exactly what it said on the Websight. You would need to be aware of very low beams in the main room, for me this all added to the charm. Although traditional in build and decor kestrels loft had all the mod cons you would need, down to a picnic basket and umbrella. Debbie gave us great advice on sights to see and restaurants to try. She is a great host, we thought we'd need to check out late and she was most accommodating. I wouldn't hesitate to return to jestrels loft.

A perfect stay.
From the moment we arrived Debbie and Andy made us so very welcome. After a long drive we were greeted and shown round the lovely loft, with two welcome cold beers! The loft is equipped with everything that you need including a welcome pack with cereal, butter, milk, tea, coffee and a bottle of wine. Another lovely touch was the baguette delivered each morning by the bread fairy. The secluded private pool area is beautiful, perfect for relaxing and swimming. We spent two weeks in the loft and it was a perfect place for visiting local villages, markets, The Dordogne, beautiful lakes. The nearby village of Gensac was a short walk away, it had lovely restaurants, bars, a bakery and a small supermarkets; larger supermarkets are also a short drive away. I would highly recommend Kestrel's loft for a holiday in this area and we hope to return one day. Many thanks to Debbie and Andy for being lovely hosts.

One week stay
We enjoyed our stay at Kestral's Loft , an original chateau from many years ago. It has been completely refurbished which made our stay very comfortable. We cooked many meals in the well equipped kitchen and relaxed on the comfortable couch enjoying the TV with all the English channels. The private swimming pool was wonderful in the heat of July. There are lots of great cycling roads through the vineyards and many little towns nearby were a treat to visit. The owners, Andy and Debbie were very accommodating and provided a fresh loaf of bread every morning. Overall a very nice one week stay. Scott P
