Rustic Getaway
Our family had an absolute blast! It was perfect for all 22 of us. There were bald eagles and elk everywhere. Having the river flow through the property is amazing! We loved entering the park through the North and having Gardiner as home base. Accommodations are rustic and ready for some updates but we had everything we needed and had a fantastic time.

Great but some things to know
We enjoyed our stay. Great location and setup for us. I am not complaining but there were Two things I did not see in other reviews that you may want to know- no dishwasher so take disposable unless you want to do lots of dishes by hand. Foyer is extremely difficult with a wheelchair and path from lodge to sleeping area and bathroom is not wheelchair friendly. Mom can go short distances on walker so it worked for us. We would stay here again as a huge family.

Large group family vacation
We booked the Yellowstone lodge and hostel when we were planning a large group vacation but weren’t sure a total head count. We had a total of 27 show up ages 2-70. The lodge was a perfect place for so many families to come together but have their privacy in their own private rooms. I would say the pictures online make the yard look larger than it is but it didn’t seem to be an issue. The kids had a blast exploring. The hot springs right down the road is fantastic. The proximity to the park was great especially being able to pass through town for gas and ice each morning. Pictures online showed an outdoor griddle but there wasn’t one on the property. I’d suggest more fans be brought in as there weren’t enough for every room and even early June it gets warm. The kitchen is FULLY stocked. We will definitely book this for our next Yellowstone trip.

Best location for family reunion
We're all over Montana (as well as Texas and Kansas) so it was an amazing place for our family reunion. It was a great central spot for family from Hamilton, Helena, and Billings to drive and be together. So excited to have lots of things to do for the kids too with the incredible game room. We also ventured into the park and enjoyed the hot springs down the road. All weekend everyone kept commenting on what a perfect spot it was. So grateful for our stay and everything that was provided for us. Thank you so much!

Family Trip to Remember
The property's location exceeded our expectations. It truly sits on the Yellowstone River, providing amazing views of the river (from the lodge and the rooms). Using the maintained path, you can walk down to the sandy shoreline where our kids were able to play and swim, while the adults could fish. The lodge provided a great spot to hang out, share meals, and play games. The rooms and bathrooms were all clean and well furnished for our needs. The only downside to comment on is the absence of A/C (which is consistent with the listing); however, fans were provided in each room. This was a great location for our visit to Yellowstone and allowed us to have a wonderful family vacation.

Great Place For a Wedding
My husband and I booked this lodge to accommodate our family and a couple close friends for our destination wedding. When Liza says this place is fully stocked; she means it! I was worried because I forgot to grab salt and pepper; but this lodge had everything! There was a fully stocked spice cabinet along with every kitchen utensil you could want; cleaning supplies, soap, toiletries, laundry facilities and soaps; we didn't need to bring a thing! The only drawback to this booking is ghat Liza is not very responsive. I had to ask every question at least twice; and Liza only let me know the day of that one of the larger rooms with 4 beds would be unavailable and that the second fridge wasn't working. While the fridge was very inconvenient, we had taken care to have overflow lodging; so it want a major emergency, just a inconvenience that left kind of a sour taste in our mouth. We would happily book again since we now know what we would be walking into; and it was a lovely, rustic place to stay :)

Perfect for our Family Reunion
This place was set up perfectly for our family reunion of 17! The central house to mingle and cook/eat together really is what pulled it together. The outdoor space is just lovely - beautiful views, the beach was a wonderful addition that we took lots of advantage of, and we saw lots of wildlife just from our backyard! We were worried because the entrance to Yellowstone was closed from the flooding that occurred. While we didn't frequent the park, there was still plenty more hiking and outdoor exploring to do in the area with lots of amenities. Definitely would go back here, and Liza was very helpful!

Park County Dormitory, Riverside, mountain views
It was perfect for our large family gathering. The main lodge had plenty of tables to dine indoor OR outdoor together. THe deck was covered w/ a large seating area to eat and enjoy the gorgeous views. There was a nice lawn to play capture the flag and kickball and an easy access to the river, which had an awesome sandy beach thanks to the flooding. The dormitories were perfect...so many rooms, the cousings could bunk together, all were close enough for security of the little ones. We expected outdated and worn out linens and mattresses, but on the contrary, the mattresses were quite comfortable and the linens clean and new. This place was perfect!

AMAZING!
Not one complaint. This property was perfect for our group. Property as described. We had an amazing time! Ten minute drive to town and the north entrance to Yellowstone, five minute drive to the Yellowstone hot springs, games and s’mores by the campfire. The only thing I would do different, is go in warmer months to be able to utilize the river!!

Perfect place for our large group of family and friends
The location is really terrific - just 10 minutes north of Gardiner (food, shopping) and the North Gate of Yellowstone. Tons to see in the northern half of Yellowstone, so this location cuts down on some of the driving you'd have to do from other gates. The home/hostel itself has beautiful views and is set up perfectly for a large group. Those who want to socialize or stay up late take advantage of the living areas and deck (where we spend most of our time) while others who want to can go back to their rooms to rest, get some alone time. The shared bathrooms (two men/two women) worked fine for our group. Everything was clean, towels provided, etc. Kitchen was perfect for cooking large meals, which we did every night, and for people to get what they needed for breakfast and lunch. The refrigerators might be on their last legs, but having two was really helpful. I'd highly recommend this place to any large group (we had 27).

Family Reunion
I had read two reviews from previous renters that weren’t glowing so I was a little worried. But the facility with the 11 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms worked very well for us. The lodge with the large dining and seating areas, the covered porch with a large table and lots of seating provided several options for socializing, playing games etc. If you are wanting a 4 or 5 star hotel, this place is not for you; but for our large easygoing family gathering, it was perfect. We would all go again!

Family Reunion for 34
The property is rustic with shared bathrooms, but it worked great for our family. It iis an older property, but clean and offered a kitchen and great room that allowed us to make our own meals -which added to the fun and fellowship. The location was great as we went to Yellowstone easiy and also to Chico Hot Springs. There was a great play area on the property itself. Our one complaint was when we had two room with no electricity, we had to resolve the issue ourselves via instructions on the phone - no one physically called or showed up to see if the issure was resolved.

Yellowstone
Our group has traveled together before staying at other VRBO properties. We rely on reviews so I feel I should share our experience. Pros: Fantastic location, beautiful views, and wonderful orchard play area,. We loved the fire pit, great porch, and appreciated plenty of seating for mealtimes, comfortable beds and ample parking. Cons: Bathrooms were disappointing. Our group was extremely uncomfortable with the absence of window covering in men’s and women’s bathrooms, each with a large uncovered window facing the highway. Also, the drain in the floor of the women’s bathroom was very slow even after cleaning out hair and gunk from the drain cover. The lodge is in need of a deep and thorough cleaning. Three guests assisted with cleaning the oven in the kitchen so it could be used. One guest cleaned the spice cabinet, another guest washed windows, mopped and performed general cleaning. Considerable time was spent cleaning a coffee maker for use. There were several aspects of general uncleanliness which detracted from our stay. The filthy grill and the grease coated oven were the worst. We had spent so much time cleaning, we did not clean the grill. We used the burners for outdoor cooking and wiped down the easily cleaned areas but left the rest of it as we found it. All guests were uncomfortably hot which decreased our enjoyment of the property and made it difficult to fall asleep for most guests. We did not contact Liz regarding our disappointment in the poor clean up from prior guests. Without a crew coming in to clean and disrupting our stay, there would have been nothing she could do at that point. We made the best of it. We all agreed the hefty cleaning fee we paid felt insulting, given the fact we were greeted with so many things that needed cleaning and chocolate stained dirty comforters in multiple rooms, folded and ready for use. We were hot so we didn’t need them but it made me wonder how long they wait to wash the blankets. Multiple notices are posted to leave the blankets in the rooms and that was her only verbal direction given over the phone, so we left the dirty blankets folded. Bottom line: Our group agreed we would not want to rent this property again.

Intimate Wedding Weekend
We rented the property as our COVID wedding venue. It was beautiful, the views were amazing, beds comfortable and the staff was incredibly kind. We are already planning many return trips. There were two fridges that allowed for more than enough storage and a few stores in a short drive. The gas BBQ could use some TLC but we were able to work with it and used the standard briquette BBQ for additional meals. The living quarters were more than spacious enough, the kitchen is a bit outdated but we were able to cook all meals and had more than enough silverware and plates, etc. There were neighbors closer than we expected and were notified of a quiet time starting at10pm, we didn't have trouble abiding by the rules but could have used more notice of the policy. The walk to the river was a bit steep and was thankful for the warning not to use it as our raft pull out. Great for spending family time by the water and even some great wedding photos. If you can get over a few spider webs, you'll never regret staying here.

Reunion stay
We chose this spot for a 10 year reunion. If you are looking for a spot with beautiful views and easy access to fun outdoor activities (Yellowstone park, white water rafting, etc..) this is the place for you. This place sleeps plenty & has everything you need to enjoy quality time with your loved ones. Having the bonfire pit in the backyard while listening to the current of the Yellowstone river makes for memories that will last a lift time. Yellowstone national park north entrance is only 15-20 minutes away, a very easy drive to see some of our nations most cherished & majestic lands. Gardiner has a nice convenience store if you run low on supplies, as well as shops & small restaurants/bars to eat and hangout. 10/10 we would stay here again, we are all very grateful we chose this place as our reunion location.
