We made a reservation via Expedia with days in advance because we knew that all hotels would be full. Then, we drove from Fort Lauderdale to Gainesville and arrived by 10PM, because we were taking our son to the college in Gainesville. When we arrived the receptionist was somehow unfriendly and said that there was no reservation in my name. When I showed her the reservation confirmation, se told me that Expedia had cancelled it, which was a lie. Expedia had no reason to cancel my reservation. I use Expedia for years and that never happened. The hotel simply gave our room to someone else. When I complained, she said that she didn't care. We found ourselves in the street without a place to go. I had to find a hotel in another town, about 40 miles away. I will never make a reservation in this hotel again.

Place needs some TLC though staff is very nice
Kudos to Latrice the manager who was very gracious and adjusted our rate due to the room issues detailed below. Also want to complement the other staff members and Patty the traveling manager who were also very gracious. That said the owner needs to take note of the condition of their property and necessary maintenance. Our room needed maintenance. The kitchenette sink had no handle to use it. The lamp at the nightstand had no light bulb. The hook next to the shower had a protruding screw that snagged my clothes. The bathroom door had damage on the inside. There were no hangers in the room. The bottom dresser drawer as broken. The bathroom sink caulk needs cleaning. The pictures tell the story. I understand there was no maintenance person available to correct the issues with our room and certainly not the fault of Latrice. The owner decides who to hire and when.

The hotel smells horrible! When we walked into the elevator there was trash on the floor. As we exited the elevator the hall was very dim lit but you could see smoke rolling out from under a door down the hall and up to the ceiling passing the lights and down the hall it smelt horrible. We opened our room it smelled disgusting. We didn't even walk the rest of the way into the room. We turned around went down to the front desk filed a complaint asked for our money back and left and went somewhere else to stay.

Upon arrival at the property and walking into what said was a lobby was actually a hall way with two doors as if I was entering a pawn shop in a bad area. The clerk that checked me in did not move from his seat doing and barely spoke with me. Upon arrival later that evening from having dinner the police was at the hotel escorting someone out the building who appeared to be under the influence. Once I entered our room I was discussed by the smell and appearance of the room in whole. The cabinets were broken and missing doors the refrigerator was nasty and rusted. The worst thing was all of the roaches that were crawling through out the room especially in the bathroom. After having the worst night and experience we checked out the next morning at first light. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Showed up around 6pm to check in, and was informed they did not have a room for me. They had the reservation, but no room. When I asked how they were gonna fix the problem, they said they could do nothing. They charged my credit card around 1pm, so I thought everything was fine, but it wasnt. I never recieved a call, an email, nothing. Not even an apology. WORST HOTEL SERVICE EVER!!!!
