Good affordable option

Great location for shops, bars and restaurants. Very easy to get to from the airport with the bus. Very clean and comfortable rooms, attentive and helpful staff. The coffee at breakfast and the Wi-Fi throughout the hotel could be improved. The breakfast room is a bit dark and could do with a small refurbishment.

Very convenient. Good continental breakfast. We arrived at 4:30 and no one to receive us. It was a bit confusing to figure out where to park and find a spot until the next morning when the desk opened up. But I was able to reach them by phone and they were able to help me so that was good.

It was very difficult to get a hold of the property manager when we arrived. There were no clear instructions from her regarding parking. It was a frustrating situation. We were charged 10 euros for parking even though it says on the website that it's 7 euros. Other than that, everything else was great!

Lovely place to stay near Funchal sea front

A lovely place to stay but be sure to contact them in advance as the reception area is only open for a few hours - I needed a code to get in late at night and it was not sent to me automatically. Very nice, convenient place to stay, just minutes from the seafront. Room was spacious and clean and the building and area were quiet. Nice, helpful staff.

Had a great stay at Sao Francisco Accommodation

We had a wonderful stay at this guesthouse. We spoke mainly with Sonia, who helped us with checking in and was very responsive any time we had a question about recommendations in the area. She was very welcoming and friendly, with lots of great suggestions. The location was great- right near a small park, with lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. We appreciated the continental breakfast each morning and the room was really comfortable and clean. Overall, it was a great value for money and we'd stay there again!

Amazing stay, fantastic service

I am so glad that I stayed here my first time in Madeira! I was here for a solo holiday to hike and explore the many walks here and could not have been happier. The location was great, centrally located in Funchal, making everything super accessible. Rooms very clean and comfortable, quite spacious for one. The best part though was the impeccable service. Sonia not only gave me her opinion of the best places to visit for my interests, but even booked all of the items for me after I had decided what I wanted to do- tours, walks, parking, car rental, even massage! She was super responsive on WhatsApp whenever I had any questions. By the end of my stay, I found myself wishing I could do something for her to return all of her generous time! Especially if it is your first time visiting Madeira, you won’t regret staying at Sao Francisco!

City Centre Comfort

Beautiful newly refurbished rooms. Spacious, quiet, comfortable bed and fantastic shower. Excellent wifi in the rooms. Pleasant and helpful staff. Breakfast was adequate. Really central location, right next to a lovely park and a short stroll down to the seafront, marina, cruise port and shops. Good restaurants right on the doorstep, no need to wander far to eat very well. Blandys wine museum and the tourist office at the end of the street. Ideal place to stay if you want to be right in the city centre and explore the city on foot, as you can walk anywhere. Very private.

The best thing about this hotel is the amazing staff. Very friendly and they couldn't do enough to make sure you had a pleasant visit to their incredible island.

Great all-round....

A great location, alongside a lovely park and a super restaurant, in a quiet lane right in the centre of town. Easy walk from buses and taxis. We had a lovely welcome, and staff were on hand to answer questions about what to see. We liked being given a 24-hour 'phone number in the event of any problems. The room was very clean and quiet, and all staff were really lovely. Go there!

Close to everything possible excellent location .

The staff was amazing friendly and very helpfull the room was quite and very comptable.Loved the varanda and the snacks they provided I would recommend it to anybody . Very very clean we felt like we were home still under construction when it's completed done it's like a peace of heaven. It was a pleasant two weeks.
