The house worked well for our stay
The house was mostly clean and worked well for what we were going for. The deck and firepit area was great for our group. It is not like the pictures. You can see that maintenance has not been done outside for a while. Just go in knowing that you will have to wash out the kayaks if you want to use them. The deck needs stain, which is not a big deal but not like the pics. The chairs outside worked great but also had not been cleaned. The inside was pretty clean. We enjoyed the little towel people in the house on the beds. The sofa was broken when we arrived, a leg was busted on the end of the sofa. The Horse Shoe pit has broken Horse Shoes, there were some broken decorations inside as well. The dishwasher was throwing an error code because someone turned off the water to the dishwasher. We were able to troubleshoot it. Again, this did not impact our group, but the renter should know that the pictures are maybe what it looked like a few years ago. So set expectations accordingly. The path out to the lake was nice to walk. It goes for quite a ways, which is a great way to get outside. We had plenty of wood for the firepit. We had to find some buckets for putting it out at night. The grill over the fire pit worked great for our group. Our weather was great, so we spent a lot of time on the deck. It is shaded during the day, which was nice. Privacy is everything for this place. We did not have to deal with neighbors. I think this was the biggest benefit.

An "up north" experience
Extended family got together for some memory making. The property was clean and updated, adorable towel art in each bedroom, fun bunk bed room and basement game room. Kitchen modest and not equipped for 15 people to eat there 3 times a day (only 9 forks), so we went through a lot of paper goods and washed our plastic silverware. The lake is a .3 mile hike or drive and hike. You really have to enjoy kayaking to go through the effort to take them down to the water. The area around the piers is not ideal for swimming. We drove into town and spent $5 to swim at the county park next to the RV park. The listing said games and toys, but it was more for tweens and older. We are glad we brought a lot of toys and games for our younger crew. The kitchen oven is a bit slow to cook things. unlisted appliances; a griddle, three waffle irons, instapot, a slow cooker, a hand mixer, a pizza oven, cutting boards, numerous pots and pans. Grill needs to be leveled. There was a disconnect between vacasa, VRBO, and properly owner if any communication was made with them. Vacasa answered my question and said firewood was not included, but in fact there was a canopy with a large pile of firewood and a wago to take it down to the fire pit. Vacasas 800 number said a coffee maker would be delivered to the property because there was no coffee pot for the coffee maker (accessories and filters were there) no delivery or follow up, we went to Walmart and bought one. The owner should update listing

A weekend with the guys
We had seven middle aged guys under the roof for a weekend. It was a great space. The game room in the basement was really fun and we enjoyed the fire pit as well. It is also really close to several cool WI state parks, so there’s good hiking to be had. The place was clean and the whole check-in and check-out process was easy. We’d definitely return.

Did not meet expectations — SO MANY BUGS!
My family of 15 stayed here during the middle of May. We were hoping for a fun lakehouse experience with some lake time, hiking, bonfires and fishing. Unfortunately the bugs and especially the ticks in this area were HORRIBLE. We hardly spent any time outside because of this which was a shame because the weather was perfect. We purchased fummers, bug repellant candles, heavy deet repellant, everything, but the mosquitoes would eat us alive. Several family members had ticks embedded in them or crawling on them by just going out on the deck. Ticks were crawling on the couch and on the floor too. Definitely do not recommend coming here during the summer if you want to enjoy the outdoor space at all. The indoor space met our expectations. However the floors were filthy and our socks were black within an hour of checking in. My baby’s hands and feet were dirty from crawling. I reached out to the owners and they offered a cleaning crew to come out but they didn’t. You can tell this house is used just for rentals. No personal touches, not even a guest book. Sleeping spaces on three separate levels were great but also no one slept comfortably because the upstairs was super hot and the downstairs was freezing. They did provide floor fans for upstairs bedroom and some type of heater fireplace for the downstairs but was still not comfortable. Overall the space fit our large group and the downstairs area kept us entertained. We just went at a bad time of the year unfortunately.

Great property with lots of options
We had a family get together with adult children. Property had plenty of things to do both inside and out. We had colder weather than expected for the end of March but had a great time in the game room and with board games at the nice large dining table. Nice spacious rooms with plenty of seating. Everyone wants to come back when we can take advantage of the water recreation options too. Only issue we had was having to ask to get check in information the day we were scheduled to be there. Have never had this issue and it made me a little nervous not having the information a little more in advance.

Great Long Weekend
The cabin was as excellent as the photos suggested it would be! We had a long weekend with friends, and the cabin had everything we needed to cook and eat meals and entertain ourselves. We especially loved the billiards, foosball, and Pacman in the basement! We mostly stayed inside, but the cabin was a short drive from Roche-A-Cri state park which was an excellent spot for a hike. Our only suggestion for improvement would be to have a few extra large pots for cooking - we had to use several small pots to make enough rice to go with our entrees.

Christmas at the Cabin
We had a great time at Adventure Bay, all 12 of us. The house was better than we’d hoped, the towels were nice and fluffy (and plenty of them too!) Beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with appliances and utensils. Loved the game room and fire pit outside. Also a lovely surprise was there was a lighted fake Christmas tree set up! Only negative were the shower curtains, lots of mildew. But we just popped them in the washer with some bleach and that worked well enough. Overall a great way to spend Christmas with family we don’t see often.

We had a wonderful time, the house was large enough for all of us. There was plenty of room to stretch out. The pool table and Ms. Pac man was a total hit. It had just snowed out and the trees were gorgeous. There was a huge Christmas tree and we celebrated our family Christmas.

Quiet Escape
We found our stay here to be very enjoyable and relaxing! All descriptions of the sleeping arrangements and amenities were accurate. We were pleasantly surprised to find the kitchen more than well equipped and wouldn’t have needed to bring things like coffee filters, sharp knives, and crock pot. A few points of feedback: - We were disappointed we couldn’t adjust the temperature in the house (it hovered right around 70-72 the whole time) as it was nice for sleeping but with the airy open main floor space we were chilly when relaxing at night. Some extra throw blankets in the living room would have also alleviated this concern. - The house was described as waterfront and it does appear that way on a map but there is in fact no view of the lake and it’s a bit of a hike to access the water, which is a murky tributary to the lake, not the actual lake. It wasn’t a deal breaker but if we had come in summertime we would have expected easier lake access. - Lastly, we recommend a some additional tissue boxes in restrooms. Thanks!

Fun but misleading on water access
We had fun during our stay but felt misled about the access to the lake. There are pictures of a dock but upon arrival we learned that it is not close to the property. It is not lake front and should not be considered if you’re looking for a lake home. If you’re looking for a big house, in a forest, with kid activities and space to play outside in the yard then it’s a great house!

Great private spot for a week with family!
We had a great time at Adventure Bay. It is evident there was a lot of effort put in to ensure guests have everything they need -especially for families, there were extra life jackets (including an infant jacket), kids folding table with chairs in the closet, specific directions and clearly marked labels throughout the house. We also had a huge pile of firewood ready when we arrived for campfires for the week. The location was beautiful and private -we loved the big deck and fire pit. The private beach was quiet and a perfect spot for our full group. The video on how to get there made finding it a breeze. Jason was our contact for the site, he was friendly and responsive. We had an issue with the initial house code that we were given, but Jason was quick to get it fixed and get us checked in. A few other small questions we had were quickly answered and addressed. We brought our boat and I would only mention to other boaters that the slips and really the whole lake is more pontoon-friendly than an I/O motor/speed boat. The water level of the lake seemed to be low the week we were there making some of the slips too shallow for us to get into and the tributary we were off of was extremely shallow, we got hung up on stumps(?) multiple times as we sat lower in the water than a pontoon would (all other boats in the docks/area were pontoons). Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would love to come back!
