We arrived and checked in room, noticed a strange odor like a wet dog, but we proceeded to settle in only to find upon using the restroom that the toilet overflowed when flushed. Wife went to front desk and they handed her a plunger. We used shower towel on wet floor. This was very frustrating, we then looked around room and noticed toe nails on floor carpet, then opened drawer to find a pair of dirty pants, along with sticky stuff on the desk. The room was not clean. We were so freaked out at the filth that we left and the hotel attendant apologized and offered a full refund if we called Hotels and spoke to her manager the next day. We called hotels and they spoke to the hotel manager the next morning, who refused to refund our first night (we were booked for 2 nights). I then called the manager and she argued with me and said that since it looked like the shower was used, she would not refund our night. When I disagreed with her and tried to explain that the room was dirty the toilet was clogged and the bathroom was used to try and cleanup their mess, she responded by telling me that I was lucky she did not refuse to the second night refund and in fact maybe she would. She then put the phone on the counter and would not speak to me anymore. Insulting and unprofessional. Either she needs training or is the perfect fit for such a lousy property. Still waiting to hear back from Hotels.com.
