The building we stayed in was older - carpet on stairs was odd colors (bright green for one flight of stairs, tan for another) and old. The floors in the bedroom and bathroom felt squishy, like the laminate floor was laid on top of old subfloors that weren't repaired. There was no AC (and a heat wave in France), but thankfully there was an electric fan, which made it bearable. Bathroom was tiny, with a separate WC entrance. Felt old and outdated, but trying hard. It was very clean. The staff felt much more reserved here than any other place we stayed in France - we felt like we were on our own. Could have been because we didn't speak the language. It was fine for one night on our way to Burgundy.
