About this space
The Farmhouse is the original home of the orange grove owners before us. Completely restored and renovated, we now get to open our doors to host guests in this gorgeous space with so much Old Florida history!
You'll be staying right on-site of Wonderfield Farm and Grove (originally Banes Grove) which is 66-acres of orange groves, idyllic cypress swamps, pastureland, and more! Your backyard is 10,000 acres of nature preserve. Walk our waterfront trails, and spend time in nature.
The space
The original farmhouse, recently restored and renovated!
You will have this entire home to enjoy! Equipped with two, large screen porches, a beautiful living room to enjoy, and a full kitchen.
Please note, this was the original farmhouse of the property, and it's location is central to farm activities. You have privacy in the home, but you may be able to see, hear, and interact with (if you so choose) our farm activities! The gardens and groves are just steps from the home which is a plus if you're looking to enjoy a true farm stay, but can be a negative if you're looking for complete seclusion.
Also note, the second bathroom of the home is accessible from the outside and is considered our "public" restroom (although we are not open to public, just guests). Our farm team and also other guests, have access to this restroom from the exterior of the home. Your main bathroom is located inside of the bedroom suite and is completely private for you.
Your backyard will be 66-acres of gorgeous Old Florida land. We are an "agritourism" area which means we are an active farm, that invites guest to come and experience our space. Focused on food production, we do our best to cultivate our land using permaculture principles, sustainable action, and regenerative practices.
Your stay helps fund our farm, and keeps us growing! Thank you!
Guest access
You are sure to get the "Old Florida" experience here at Wonderfield Farm & Grove. Located on a retired orange grove, next to a spring-fed river, among century old cypress trees.
The Farmhouse is located right on the property, adjacent to a traditional neighborhood setting Gobbler Drive, but you will have access to the entire property to get away from it all!
*Know that the farmhouse is not very secluded, it is setback off of Gobbler Drive, but your backyard is our 66-acre property that is a wilderness of natural beauty.
Our property is just minutes away from some of the most famous springs in Florida, such as Crystal River Springs, Rainbow River Springs, Homosassa Springs, just to name a few! Besides spending a day snorkeling among the manatees, you can find plenty of other outdoor activities to do - canoeing, kayaking, and hiking - all right here on the property or just a drive away.
There is a public boat ramp to access the Floral City Chain of Lakes just down the road (.25 miles away) if you plan on bringing a boat. You may park your boat, trailer, RV, on the property, no problem.
Also, there's a very nice market and deli down the road next to the boat ramp for basic needs, drinks, and they make some great sandwiches too!
During season (November - April) free to harvest some citrus during your stay! We love to share our abundance and know there are few things like harvesting your own food. Enjoy as breakfast, a snack, or squeeze your own orange juice! Please only harvest an amount that you'd be able to consume in a day.
