Having contacted the premises to inform of our late arrival, we were assured that arrangements would be in place to allow us access to the property and our room. We were unexpectedly delayed en-route, but felt assured that we would have had access to the property. Frustratingly this did not ensue, as on our arrival the key to our room had not been left for us. Furthermore our message and telephone calls to the proprietors went unanswered.
We are disappointed that Fonte da Foz let us down, leaving us with no option but to seek alternative arrangements. We were exhausted as it was 2am, and needed a place to rest.
We have asked for a reimbursement of costs between the original booking and the last-minute arrangements we were forced to make, notably caused by the lapse of Fonte da Foz staff. Sadly they have refused this, and we therefore feel that prospective clients should be forewarned about our unpleasant encounter.
