Lodge has an old fashioned vibe. Restaurant not serving meals, just small bites. Not a lot of dining options in Scotia, so we ate a couple towns away. Never saw an elevator, only stairs. No screens on the windows, but we didn’t notice any bugs in our room. Staff was nice.
The hotel is old but nice but we could not stay because my 81 year old mother couldn’t walk up the 3 flights of stairs to get to the room. This hotel does NOT have an elevator. Also the website says there is a restaurant on the premises and there is not one anymore.
Scotia Lodge is a very special property that has been lovingly restored by the couple behind Humboldt Social. Their attention to detail is evident in little touches like locally sourced antiques paired with high style midcentury reproduction furniture (and antiques). I loved the in-room pour over coffee and claw foot bathtub in my two bedroom suite, but I missed both a hairdryer and body lotion. The staff were all super attentive and amazing. We will definitely be back! This is a great place for families and couples. It’s quiet—though there was a street brawl (local miscreants, apparently) when we pulled up. It would make an excellent venue for a destination wedding.
Would have been nice to see the park or something pleasant, but instead, it was the noisy parking lot !

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Amenities
Building was nice kind of reminded me of a McMenamins, but on a much smaller scale. Pictures made the rooms look a lot nicer. No AC, thankfully it was cool. Windows only open about 6in. Tiny tiny rooms definitely not worth the money. Town had 0 options minus the gas station. You can definitely find a much cheaper room that has a lot more of everything.
The history of the building is really neat!
