I was thoroughly disappointed with my recent stay at Lucky 7 Casino & Hotel, which falsely advertises itself as “pet-friendly.” I paid an extra $25 per night per dog for a pet-friendly room, bringing the total to $250 per night, only to be met with hostility just hours after checking in.
After settling in, I left my room for less than ten minutes to pick up a to-go order from the hotel’s restaurant, leaving my two elderly parents to watch our dogs. As I returned, I noticed a security guard pass by our room, which caused my puppy to bark once. To my astonishment, I received a noise complaint within minutes. The complaint wasn’t even made by a guest—my parents can confirm that the dogs weren’t barking incessantly. The so-called pet-friendly hotel has a policy that after two complaints, guests may be asked to leave if dogs are left unattended. This is absurd, especially considering it wasn’t even quiet hours; it was 6 PM in a 24/7 casino hotel on a highway.
Now, my parents, our dogs, and I are on high alert for any misstep during our ONE-night stay, turning what should have been a relaxing experience into a stressful ordeal.
To add insult to injury, our food order was incorrect, making this experience even more frustrating.
This is not the welcoming, pet-friendly environment we were promised. If you’re traveling with pets, I strongly advise you to avoid this hotel.
