There were about 12 cars in the parking lot of a giant hotel. I got the corner room on the highway for some reason. Heard trucks downshifting all night. The queen beds are from 1988. They have a curve right on the middle of them. Not a great night of sleep

Got charged twice, when trying to get accommodations for a family member in a wheelchair. Got put on second floor with no elevator, then got put on first floor then just noticed on my invoice that I was charged twice and the rooms they put us in were not in good shape. Breakfast was cereal, no one to tend the bar. Stuffing in the room and air conditioning didn’t work, couldn’t open the window. Toilet paper on row was half used. Should have stayed somewhere else. Do not stay there, there’s a better place up the block and cheaper and cleaner.

The only problem we had was the pup did not open on Saturday night so to the bartender not showing. But the desk clerk gave us an absolutely amazing alternative.

Pub hospitality in Escanaba
The most amazing thing about this Magnuson Grand (Pioneer Inn and Suites - Escanaba, Michigan) is "The Pub" located inside the hotel. Great bar and pizza. After traveling across the Upper Peninsula we didn’t feel like finding a restaurant. This was a good choice. The bartender was knowledgeable and had a good selection of drinks. A great conversationalist he was a great representative of the area. He gave us information that we used on our trip. We will make this a permanent choice in our travels.

I was checked into a room and walked into find a toilet that was not flushed after someone used it. The front desk person did not even bother to come up and help me change the room. Instead I had to walk down all the way to get the keys to a different room.
