was very disappointed with my recent stay at the Hampton Inn in El Cajon. Before I even arrived, I was informed by the staff that my reservation might be canceled because the hotel was sold out—thankfully, I always call ahead to confirm. Upon arrival, I found that the sheets smelled bad, and the air coming from the AC vent was musty and muggy.
When I asked for a receipt at checkout, I was told the printer wasn’t working. Breakfast was mediocre, and the noise level at the hotel was very high. Parking was a nightmare, mostly because of the In-N-Out restaurant in the same plaza. To top it off, three days later, I found that I had been charged multiple times for my stay.
The shower was awful, with almost no water pressure, and it took at least 10 minutes for the hot water to come through. The only positive I can mention is that the location was convenient. But overall, my experience was far below what I expected from a Hampton Inn.
