Shower curtain should be changed. Room smells of something has died when i walked in. Water smells of sulphur. There was no staff around so i cant say much about the service.
room was great, only thing we had no shampoo in the unit so we used the hand soap bottle as we arrived late and did not want to interrupt the owners. it is super quiet and clear view of the sky at night.
We enjoyed our stay at this Guesthouse.
We were a bit confused at first because we had missed the self check-in instruction but thankfully someone was there and made me double check my email for instruction.
The room was nice and clean with a tiny fridge and kettle which is always nice.
The bathroom was also nice and clean and we appreciated that the area was very quiet yet conveniently close to groceries and dinning options which was rarely the case during our trip.
We were making our way around Iceland and this place was one of the best! It has a microwave which made dinner so easy. They place was clean, it even had towel warmers. I would recommend this place to anyone make the trek around on the ring road.
Our visit didn’t start too well as I missed the self check-in email as it went to my spam folder. I went to reception to check-in but was met with a frosty welcome (no greetings) and was told I should have used the self check-in. Besides this the smell in reception was awful - it shared the area with the communal kitchen and toilets.
We found our room and thought it was a bit dated. There was a bit of colour in the pea green chairs!! We had to eat inside as the two rooms on either side of us had an outdoor table but room 5 didn’t. The kitchenette was fine - a fridge in the room is always useful. The bathroom was okay but the shower was weak and the towels a bit threadbare.
There are six rooms in the guesthouse - three facing the mountain and the other three (back to back) facing a grassy mound. The mountain view rooms had the better outlook.
Quiet and clean. We were there on a very warm Icelandic day and the room was hot when we arrived. But leaving the door open and fan on, cooled the room by bedtime. We did have some techie issues. This is a self-check in guest house and we had some trouble getting the code for the lock-box and key. Because we were traveling from the U.S., we were just using one cell phone and (although I asked about 6 days before our arrival) the guest house set the code to the wrong email account. The place was very easy to find, right off the ring road, so that was a huge bonus.
