I’ve done a lot of traveling and have stayed in many hotels and this was by far the worst place I’ve stayed. First day the check in process was ridiculous. The girls at the front desk on 7/17 were awful. We were told we were too early for check in with an attitude and then she proceeded to very nicely check in everyone after us. The room was small which was fine but there was only one outlet plug for the entire room including bathroom which was very inconvenient. The mattress was basically a mattress pad on top of a box spring so it wasn’t the most comfortable. One of the days the towels were just rehung from the floor and on the first day one of the towels had pubic hairs on it. I cannot say much was cleaned each day.

The room was comfortable enough and excellently located. However, there were a couple issues: 1. There is another Ibis hotel right around the corner from this one and it's almost inevitable to confuse the two at least once. It's also quite difficult to locate this particular one on google maps. It leads you to the back of the building instead of the entrance. 2. Most of the staff I encountered were very rude and not friendly. I went to get some food and drink at the restaurant (which was open and full of people, early evening) and the two men that worked there were very cold and unwelcoming. The caeser salad was also just not good. Then at the end when I was picking up my luggage from the storage, I had two bags but the man who stored them for me only gave me one number to take a photo of so I assumed it was one number for both bags. So when this woman was grabbing my bags and I explained the situation (and proved the second bag was mine) she insinuated that it was my fault for not taking a photo of the second number...even if that were the case (you can see in the photo the guy only showed one number) it's weird and rude to blame a guest for something like that that's an honest mistake. It was very off-putting.

Excellent location but rooms are expensive given the proximity to the Royal Mile. Meets basic needs of cleanliness, quietness and courteous and helpful staff.

Small Room and Just not Worth your while
I’ll say this first. The staff were quite good and friendly. The location is great. The room is super small. The bathroom is beyond small. The bed appears to be like a Futon. Overall it was a disappointment and could not recommend it.

The staff were friendly, helpful and courteous despite a heated demand from one client ahead of our group. The girls kept their cool! Restaurant / bar average. I did not have the breakfast. The room itself was extremely overpriced for what it was, with a very odd bathroom 'pod' that didn't seem to have a fan so got very steamed up with showering. Beds average, pillows lumpy and full of foam bits. In Canada this room in a large city would cost about $115. (64 pounds Stirling) but here was over $500 Canadian after taxes and fees. The location was great for short walks to Royal Mile, train, parks and National Gallery. Next time I'd stay further out and get a train pass of some sort...or bus into city for sightseeing.

The bathroom appeared clean but had a strong odour coming from the shower drain. Didn’t find out about the onsite bar we were leaving. For us, it was not the best value for our dollar but conveniently located.
