I simple loved my stay. I tried two different rooms and they were both very clean, confortable and pretty. The hotel is central, you can walk pretty much everywhere. The check in is easy and allows for flexibility. You can also leave your luggage at a store nearby before checking in/after checking out if needed.
I will for sure come back, I highly recommande Eleven Stratford!
Beautiful property! My top
Floor room (William) was an attic room which was kind of fun for someone who always wanted one as a kid. It was perfect for a solo traveler with little luggage, but may be tight for a couple with a lot of stuff.
It was very quiet and a great location to train stations/trams/airport.
We had a brilliant time at Eleven Stafford Street. I was initially a little unsure as have never stayed anywhere that doesn’t have a staffed reception but that worry vanished as soon as we had our access code and arrived to find our beautiful room. It was so carefully thought out with several little touches e.g towelling robes and chocolates on the bed and throughout our stay on a particularly wet weekend we were very grateful for the umbrellas which stood up to the heavy wind and rain very well! We stayed in Coates which I believe is one of the smaller rooms and is downstairs but we still had ample room to move around, I would say the bathroom is on the smaller side but this wasn’t an issue for us and the shower was so warm and powerful I didn’t want to get out!! The location was perfect for us as it wasn’t right in the hustle and bustle of Princes Street but was just a 10 minute walk from the Scott Monument and 20 from the castle with several bus stops just a couple of minutes walk too. We would absolutely love to stay again if we’re visiting Edinburgh and recommend to anyone else too!
Great location. Easy to check in etc. The room was small, but it was only me, so fine. No desk etc, so you'd not be able to work there. The toiletries smell amazing.
I'd recommend and I'd stay again, but look for a slightly bigger room (I was in one of the smallest).
Absolutely beautiful place to stay; room was a very high standard and the bathroom in particular was excellent. The room was deceivingly warm, and very easy to heat and keep warm. The whole experience was fantastic, perfect nights sleep every night. Will be back!
The details really stood out here. We particularly appreciated the chocolates and tote bag on the bed as well as the signature toiletries. The tea set on the dresser were a nice vintage contrast to the modern amenities. The building is well considered and maintained. Our room was quite small and the bathroom even smaller but this is not an issue for us. We also had to climb three flights of narrow stairs; also not an issue but worth mentioning to those with accessibility or mobility concerns. It is self check-in and we only encountered staff intermittently. The location is simultaneously quiet yet steps away from bustling streets. We would stay again.
Perfectly located. Plenty of things within walking distance. Clean, beautifully designed and very safe. Responsive and friendly staff. I love that it’s adults only as well. 10/10 will book again.
A lovely grand building in a super location close to Princes St.
Our room was spotlessly clean and stylish too.
However our room on ground floor waa noisy ( echo soubd from front door opening and closing at all hours!) and the upstairs toilet came flushing ( not literally!) through our room.
The room was too cramped to put our cases anywhere or our towels or anything!
We would come back, but not stay in this room again.
Be warned creaky floorboards above as well!
Me and my mum stayed on the ground floor in the room Grosvenor and Belford, the rooms are immaculate and spotless. There is no reception, but we didn’t find this an issue as there is plenty of information about check in and I managed to leave my bag with a local company free of charge. There was a issue overnight with our heating but this was quickly resolved and compensated. Fantastic hotel, would return! Love the choccies and tote bag!
The property was very clean and nicely decorated but our room was extremely small. We knew that going into it but was still shocked at the size of the room and bathroom. We made it work for our visit though. During check in was the only time we saw staff (which was nice!) and they were friendly and very helpful with our luggage and finding out room. The location is also excellent and perfect for walking anywhere you need. Would stay again if we booked a bigger room!
Even better than the photos. Granted we stayed in the Clarendon / Suite so unable to comment on other rooms but would happily recommend this place to all given our overall experience. The design, feel & quality of the place really is a pleasure. The area is pretty and quiet with independent offerings on your doorstep, while still being around the corner from the main shopping streets if wanting to head that way. Would definitely stay here again.
