The hotel is in a square just off the sea front but still could see the sea from our window. Welcoming, helpful staff who carefully explained the car parking permits system in use in Eastbourne. Tasty and extremely good value breakfast. Lovely themed bedroom dedicated to Klimt( the Austrian painter). Plenty to see and do. Would happily stay again.

Lovely hotel in a great area of Eastbourne.
Lovely welcome on arrival. Had a lift which was very helpful. Room was pleasantly decorated and clean . Bed was very comfortable- stayed 2 nights and towels refreshed after night one. Shower was excellent when working - was a bit of a hit or miss - water was scolding one minute and freezing the next but we got through that. Would definitely stay again . Didn’t manage to get up in time for breakfast, so can’t comment.

We were very disappointed with our 2 night stay. We booked a superior room (although we may have been given an "executive" room as it had a sofa in it), and although very large, it was tatty and the decor was very tired with creaky laminate flooring. Scuff marks on the walls, curtains coming off the rail and not big enough to cover the windows. The bathroom was very small and the shower was very weak and had grubby grouting and did not feel spotlessly clean. Towels, although clean, were very thin and worn. The pillows were flat as pancakes and the duvet cover had a hole in it. We were greeted by a manager when we arrived but did not see him or any other staff for the rest of our stay. I really wanted to like this hotel - many other reviews had been glowing which is why we booked. However, there was nothing about our room that warranted the description of "Superior" or the price.

Da Vinci Hotel July 2024
The hotel was perfectly positioned just off the seafront. The room was large, light, & well appointed. The bed was huge and comfortable. The cooked breakfast was great and well priced. The owner/manager was friendly, courteous and helpful. Parking was in front of the hotel with a permit provided for free. I would stay there again.

So many hotels in this area are of quite poor quality. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at the Da Vinci as it exceeded my expectations. They really have made an effort with the decor and the maintenance of the hotel which made it a very pleasant surprise for me. I will definitely return if in the area.
