Welcome to BirchHouse. A contemporary, architecturally designed lake house in the heart of Ontario's cottage country - the Haliburton Highlands. Perched cliff side with panoramic views over pristine waters, supreme privacy and tranquility are in abundance. Simple, intentional design with nature as a backdrop inspires a slower pace of life. A warm space to connect with loved ones, create lasting memories, and embrace relaxed luxury.
Nestled amidst a lush forest and overlooking serene waters, this 4-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom sanctuary offers the ultimate escape.
Step inside to a space informed by nature. Floor to ceiling windows offer West facing panoramic views over the lake and to the surrounding forest, with sunsets that are second to none. Forty percent of the exterior walls are windows to truly bring the outside in.
BirchHouse was designed around a one hundred and twenty foot hallway spanning the width of the structure, affectionately known as the spine of the home. A thirty two foot glass bridge connects the main portion of the home to the guest wing which is suspended 18ft off the ground below. Rest high in the sky.
The kitchen is a chef's delight, equipped with state-of-the-art appliances, a wet bar, butler's pantry, and ample counter space, setting the stage to craft culinary delights and libations. Adjacent to the kitchen, an open plan dining and living area offers a spacious gathering zone for memorable meals and casual conversations.
Binge watch your favourite shows or movies on a rainy day from the media room featuring an 85" smart TV.
BirchHouse offers two primary suites with large walk through closets and spa-like en-suites with soaker tubs. Two additional queen sized bedrooms share a third full bathroom. Each bedroom is a private oasis, designed with your comfort in mind. Obasan sleep organic mattresses and pillows, crisp linens and plush bedding ensure a restorative night's sleep. All bedrooms and bathrooms are equipped with room darkening electric blinds.
A separate utility room is home to a second fridge freezer, washer and dryer.
Step outside to the Canadian wilderness with no neighbours in sight. Bask in the sun or shade all day long thanks to multiple outdoor decks and patios.
Lounge by the fire table under the covered porch and listen to the rainfall, soak in the cedar barrel hot tub, BBQ and dine alfresco, or simply sit in silence and soak up natures sounds and views.
Follow the granite steps and landings to the lake where you will be greeted by two stand up paddle boards, four kayaks, and a spacious dock system with lounge chairs. The lake is extremely deep off of the end of the dock, making it perfect for diving and fishing. Explore miles of pristine waters in the heart of Ontario's vacation paradise. There are approximately 90 steps down to the lake, separated by several landings and pathways, making it very leisurely.
NOTE: The lake is part of the Trent-Severn water system and the levels fluctuate seasonally. The floating dock is removed late September/early October for Winter, and reinstalled in May.
NOTE: The privacy and tranquility of our area is of utmost importance. Our policy is one of quiet enjoyment. While our property is extremely private, noise carries significantly and is amplified on the lake. This is not a place to party, but a space to relax, connect with nature, and reconnect with each other. Please be respectful of our immediate neighbours and lake community. Excessive noise and disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated.
NOTE: AWD and Winter tires are recommended from snow fall to thaw, typically December through to April.
