We're here in the office season, but Dubuque is such a cool town that it's fun to visit whenever. This place is amazing and well preserved. Very quiet. The owner is so nice and gives you very clear instructions for check-in, etc. he knows a lot about the history of the home and Dubuque, it was fun to talk with him. Rounded out with a nice breakfast. Would gladly return!

It’s a beautiful old house in the heart of the city.
The innkeeper made a delicious vegan breakfast for me of slow-cooked oatmeal with blueberries and chopped nuts on the side. He also prepared a bowl of fresh fruit with persimmons.
Me and my mom came for a 2 day trip. We were immediately greeted by the Innkeeper who was very friendly and showed us to our room. Check in was a breeze. The place is fantastic and has a lot of history. The breakfast was great as well, the innkeeper went above and beyond. 10/10 recommend and would stay here again.
This place is AMAZING! It’s so clean, spacious, and well kept. The location is also
wonderful. The rooms are great and the breakfast was wonderful. The innkeeper is one of the most friendly people you’ll ever meet! Always smiling and saying hello. I wish we could stay here every time we are in Dubuque. I wish I could have given ten stars for everything. Will be back for sure.
Had a great stay at Redstone. The place isn’t perfect, no 100 year old buildings are. The charm is in the details, the grandeur of the mansion itself. The owner was very helpful. Never thought Dubuque would be a highlight of a vacation but Redstone really made me enjoy the town.
We had a marvelous stay. The place is old, l and beautiful. The owner was very nice. There were snacks provided and a wonderful breakfast. Parking was right across the street. Within easy walking distance to shops, restaurants and attractions.
We stayed here years ago and had a lovely room. This time our room had a towel bar off in the bathroom, torn wallpaper patched with tape, a corner of the ceiling had a piece of dry wall tacked up covering a hole. The outside stairs had one section blocked because the step was crumbling. The breakfast had a variety of bakery items and fruits with a hot egg & ham sandwich, which was okay. The gentleman who hosted us was very nice, gave directions, and ideas for where to have dinner. Overall we were very disappointed in the Inn.

Redstone is an iconic older hotel, that has tremendous character. It is a fun place to explore and stay. It does need some changes, windows etc. but one cannot expect modern, chrome and glass in an Inn that has retained the character of this one.
Excellent breakfast, not expecting the menu options. Only problem was the train whistles during the night, great location to access Dubuque!

Robert, the host, was very personable and friendly. He was there to help us with any needs. The property was in need of some updates, but it was very clean and well kept. Breakfast was wonderful - a good hot meal and lots of fruit and pastries. The neighborhood was clean and safe. Overall, we had a wonderful time.
This was such a fun and unique place to stay while in Dubuque! We could walk to everything we wanted to see in town, and the breakfast made each day was delicious! Robert was a great host and the room (and hotel in general) was interesting and unforgettable.
Property was not maintained. Room was dirty, water damage in the ceiling that was not repaired, peeling paint, peeling wallpaper, stained carpet, strange plastic wrap over wallpaper plus electric issues (sometimes the lights worked, sometimes they didn't). Didn't eat breakfast so can't comment there. There may also be a mold issue with the number of air filtration systems throughout. Owner was borderline rude making a comment that we were bothering him. You should really pass this one by.

Beautiful property, excellent host. Property is in need of some repairs.
Place was so unique and wonderful. The owner was incredible! Went way out of his way to accommodate us. Great personality! Probably one of the best places we've ever stayed at! Highly recommend!
Stay at your own risk. The online pictures severely understate the condition of the property both externally and internally. From the jerry-rigged attempt to secure the entrance to the inn, to the wallpaper coming of the walls. to mold in the bath tub, to hand soap that was unusable, lamp shades that were taped to together and so forth. It is unfortunate, with some "TLC" and determined renovation, this could be a welcoming and charming inn.
