Excellent hotel
My family stayed recently and have already booked to return next week. The hotel must have undergone a remodel, as though it retains its old world charm it had many modern conveniences. The family room was a proper family room as opposed to other places we have stayed and the price was very reasonable. It had 3 beds, a mini fridge and an excellent shower/bath. Drumcondra is a lovely, safe neighborhood with loads of walking distance choices for food and drinks. It's a short 20 minute bus ride straight into town and on the main road to and from the airport, with onsite parking. The staff were lovely and the bar fun. It was a truly exceptional stay. Being an expat myself, USA travelers would greatly enjoy this hotel and the neighborhood.

This was horrible. It’s was the fourth time I was here and every time it’s a disappointment but this time they managed to beat it all The view from our room was at a dirty roof and three blowing airconditionings. Service was limited and when I told them I expected a better room in a four star hotel they looked at me weird. I did get another room at the end

Good hotel. The restaurant and lobby were great options for meals or a drink. Plenty of restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. Short drive to popular parts of Dublin (and cabs are fairly easy to get, the hotel will arrange one for you).

My sister and I stayed at the Skylon for three nights. Lovely, clean hotel. Staff were great helping with directions, providing information. Arranging taxi booking. Entertainment and food, cocktails at the hotel, just great! We both would recommend and definitely stay at the Skylon again.

Great stay
We really enjoyed our stay. Located next to restaurants and pubs. The bus system was easy to figure out. The staff were friendly and helpful. If you do not want to be in the tourist zone or heart of the city this is a great place to stay. Also, it is right next to DCU.

Had an awful experience with a filthy room and terrible reception staff who were rude to my face. The whole situation with trying to get our room changed as there was graffiti on the wall, stains on the bed, floor and walls, dust hanging off radiators and off the ceiling, left me in tears as the female manager and reception staff were outright rude and treated us like it was our fault. Housekeeping and a male manager the following day tried to do their best to sort the situation out - but we repeatedly had issues with the same reception staff. Would not recommend this place if you value your mental health and physical health - since they think it’s ok to have such gross rooms.
