I went with a group. We did not know the area and this hotel is located in a bad part of town. During the night screaming, loud fighting took place, screaming, police sirens. I will say that we walked everywhere and coming back to hotel at 10pm...nobody ever bothered us. Convenient to bus, tram and train.
We were suppose to stay for two night at the property. To get to the hotel entrance we had to drive our car through an extremely shady alleyway with rough-looking people screaming around. It was a bedlam there. It was comparable to what you would see in the 80’s crime movies. Filth, piss, people living in the tents. The best part was that it all was happening around police precinct. For the first time in Ireland I felt really unsafe. I instructed my wife to lock herself in the car while I was going to check us in. The hotel lobby was nice. The staff were friendly. I got our keys and went back right away before something could happen to our car or my wife. We gathered everything from our rental car and went to our room with our luggages. The room… was dirty. Not filthy. But not clean at all. We quickly found old hair behind mattress (no bed bugs were in sight). There were dead bugs in the lamp on the ceiling. The interior was run-down. Definitely not like what you see on hotel pictures. But the finishing part was the window that was facing that alleyway with homeless people and railways. Each time train were passing you could feel walls vibrating. To top it up with the noise of the screaming people outside and tv sound from the room next to us. We went to the lobby to request a different room only to be told that they were full, and nothing could be done. We stayed one night in our room, then the following day checked out one day earlier so we could escape that nightmare.

Convenient but seemed to have a shower leak making the room musty
If you're looking for a convenient hotel of good standard then consider this one. Right across from the busara bus station and close to O'Connell St and the shops.

A lovely old building with nicely made up small rooms. Unfortunately the floors are thin and creaky and we could hear people walking around.
Not greatest area, but room was good and affordabl
It was quite loud at night and it wasnt even people from the pub next door, but people from the hostel next door outside in the alley smoking and drinking until all hours of the morning (during the week). The area was a little sketch but we were fine. The hotel itself was great. Staff was friendly and our room was very spacious.
Very nice hotel and the rooms are huge but the homeless and the train line make it a little univiting to stay in

Hotel cleanliness and Bar were great, however the laneway outside was frequented by drunken vagrants. Noisy and swearing, late into the night. Also the train line right outside the window made sleeping difficult
We enjoyed our stay at the Beresford. It's in a convenient location to enjoy all parts of the downtown areas. Rooms were comfortable and staff was very helpful and friendly. Bus Station is right across the street making it super easy to catch a taxi or HopOn/HopOff tour bus.
The location was very convenient but a bit noisy during the day as it is close the train station and across from a us station. Very friendly and helpful staff. The furnishings are a bit older but functional. Excellent breakfast buffet and a nice bar for an evening drink. The room and the entire property was ckean
