Very Good

Staff are very friendly and hotel is clean. My room was very small.
I found the menu limited and expensive..The food is very small portions. I had a ceaser salad and it came with 1/4 of a chicken breast and bulked out with fried bread. At checkout they did rectify this by giving a £10 refund. Breakfast was £17 which is expensive, I imagined all yummy fruits and delicious cooked breakfast and again I was disappointed the fruit offer was watermelon! I opted for the eggs Benedict which had the smallest peice of ham. Nothing like the picture!
Absolutely fantastic stay. Staff are so friendly. Beautiful grounds.
Rooms are lovely and spacious.
One of best hotels ive stayed in...and i stay in a lot. Will definitely stay again
Really nice room service. The lady escorted us to our rooms in this older xountry style hotel. I only issue was the WiFi which didn’t seem to work but we were upgraded to the more modern rooms and we managed to at least get some signal.
The bathroom was huge and we really enjoyed our stay.
Very well kept, beautiful rooms. Great staff. Clean. Extremely well priced.
Great little birthday touch with the cake towel and the card.
The only comment I would make and its not a negative is that the free standing wardrobes need to be bolted to the wall to prevent a child pulling it over on themselves.
We arrived to find a wedding being hosted there. A couple of the wedding guests were extremely drunk and sitting on the reception floor. Five others were smoking in the front entrance doorway meaning even to gain access you had to penetrate a wall of smoke. Loud music was still playing well after 11pm and was easily heard in the accommodation rooms. This property clearly should not be offered to the public if it is hosting a wedding. This was without a doubt the worst accommodation experience I have ever had and I have stayed in thousands of properties over the past 50 years as a very regular business traveller.
Beautiful building and surrounding gardens. For the price I did not expect it to be so luxurious looking, especially the reception area and the room itself. Staff were polite, welcoming and gave us all the information we needed. Only needed somewhere to stay for the night so didn't explore any of the facilities. The room itself was cozy and nicely decorated, love the marble wall bathroom though I found the frosted glass door strange. The room did get a bit warm in the night but there is a fan provided. Took a while to get the TV to connect to the WiFi but sorted in the end. I had read reviews of rooms having lots of lady birds so I looked in the room when I arrived and didn't see any. Then as time went on I saw spiders on the ceiling, lady birds on the wall above the bed and bathroom door then woodlice on the carpet. I suppose it's to be expected due to the location but it's not something I want in my room (especially as I have spider phobia) so I probably wouldn't choose to stay again unless absolutely necessary. Overall though for the price I'd say I had a good stay. Apologies: for some reason hotels.com won't allow me to add photo's to this review.
We were only there overnight as were attending a wedding nearby, but were very pleasantly surprised by the standard of the Hotel, the value for money was incredible, and we are already planning a return visit so the men can play golf whilst we ladies enjoy an afternoon tea….
The bedroom and the main areas within the hotel were faultless.
Only niggle was that the corridors, leading to bar and toilets, were a little tired and need updating like the corridor to our bedroom had been.
Everything else was immaculate. The service, incredible.
We know Owsten Hall well and cannot wait for the spa and pool area to be refurbished and reopened (if that is the plan).
