Our male Room Attendant was the friendliest member of the hotel team and he kept our rooms clean and stocked. Receptionists were the least friendly and very unhelpful. Our welcome was very inefficient and our departure even worse. On arrival a second payment was taken for one of our 2 rooms when infact Expedia had already prepaid for both. Obtaining a refund was time consuming and convoluted.
The lift to the 2nd floor had been out of action for 2 weeks yet our rooms were on that floor meaning carrying cases up and down was a struggle for us.
The bar was expensive so sadly we chose not to use it.
This was a repeat visit to the Rougemont but probably our last. Such a shame as it is a splendid Victorian building and its location opposite the railway station is ideal.
