Glad to see they upgraded the TVs in the rooms. Sorry to see they are now only offering a hot breakfast on weekends. I have stayed in this hotel for the last 8 years and this is something new this year. Please bring back the hot breakfast every morning. Also the wall paper in the shower area was bubbling and coming loose and needed some serious attention.
The staff were lovely but this property is run down and needs to be kept to standards. The rooms need cleaning (bed spreads 2”were white but filthy & showers had mold). Carpets in hallway need cleaning badly.
Breakfast only serves hot items on weekends. When items like apple juice and milk run out no one replenishes.
Staff was friendly and check in was easy. The room and hallways smelled fine. The property is outdated and floors and furniture stained. Room had a few bugs (not bedbugs or cockroaches). Mattress and covers were stained. Pillows were old and stained. Sheets and pillow covers seemed clean. Lots of black mold above shower and on bathroom ceiling. Shower dripped. Bathroom faucet dripped. Room was pretty filthy otherwise and not wiped clean. It was quiet and A/C was cold. Good price.
The bathtubs were chipping, no safety guard on bottom of tub to keep you from slipping. Mold in the bathtub wall area. The carpets were very dirty especially in the hallways as well as the rooms.
We had to ask for our room to be cleaned, they missed our room two days in a row.
Their hot breakfast was only offered on weekends and it was just overcooked hard eggs with sausage and potatoes.
Had to wait at least 15 minutes for front desk person to return in order to check out. Staff wasn’t at front desk all the time.
Told hubby this is the second time we’ve given Quality Inn a chance and they’ve let us down. NO MORE!!! Would rather stay at Best Western or Crown Plaza than Quality Inn.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The room was very outdated. Black mould in the tub, dead bug on the window sill, gum on the floor, and was not vacuumed. I returned in the evening at 1150pm and when I parked an unknown person saying he was maintenance told me to park in the back. If you’re traveling alone, stay away
It was a great location for a concert at Pine Knob! The only issue we had was that there was no phone cord attached to the phone inside the room. Otherwise the room and bathroom was nice and clean! The staff were very nice as well.
The hotel is super dated. Chairs and carpets in our room were worn and dirty.
But the bed was most comfortable! Good nights sleep.

The property was perfect for what I needed: a place to sleep for a night after a concert. Best bang for my buck at $100/night on a Friday night after a Hagar concert at DTE.
Continental breakfast was great also, with plenty of options.
Would definitely stay again!
The hotel is showing its age; hall carpet has ripples making it a trip risk, the showers finish is peeling and had mold, the desk leather chair was in terrible condition=peeling leather, main lobby stairs have whole in the drywall, the grounds around the hotel need cleaning
Bathroom shower missing knob to regulate temp
Candle from previous stay was left in shower
Elevator was dirty
Walls have never been wiped down in the breakfast dining area
This hotel was awful. The pool was down for " maintenance " but looked perfectly fine when i looked at it. Was also promised prior to stay that pool was open. There was no hot breakfast as the signs say all over the hotel and website. Only stale dry cereal, fruit with bugs crawling all over it, room temperature yogurt. There was mold on cieling in bathroom. The back of the toilet was cracked and glued back together. Wall had holes in it and wallpaper was peeling off and had mold behind it. The bed sheets had old blood on it. There wasa chair in the room that looked like someone had whiped thier butt on it. One of the beds didnt even have pillows on it when we got there. We were there to see a concert and didnt have time to find another hotel. 0 stars. Do not recommend.

Stay Elsewhere
I travel to this area about five times a year. So, over the years I have developed a list of five places I always stay at (based on pricing). Quality Inn was our pick for our most recent stay. I've always liked this property and found it to be a decent place to stay. Until this past visit. Although this is an older property I always appreciated how clean it was and that everything was as it should be. I'm not certain if there was an ownership change or what but the property has really gone down hill. It appears that they are doing the bare minimum and that's it. A couple of things to know. The staff is either not around at the front desk or if ya catch someone they aren't accommodating. They speak poor English and not sure they understand American culture. Don't expect a pool. The outdoor pool is closed for repairs. Don't expect coffee or a decent breakfast. Went down at 9am for coffee. They didn't have any made. Employee said "the girls don't like making coffee". Eventually they did but it is what it is. They only have a basic breakfast (waffles/stale bagels/cereal). They offer a better breakfast on weekends. We weren't told this and it was never that way before. Then there was our room. Both beds looked as if they'd been slept in (full of wrinkles), the walls were dirty and one had a child's marker drawing on it. I would have brought this up to someone in charge.Unfortunately this was a case of the blind leading the blind.Clearly no one cares about this property anymore.
